I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 93

Chapter 93 Deciding To Be His

Lady Flourish’s POV

There was no point discussing it further. The Wolf Council knew what to do.

Gathering my things, I finally left the office and drove back to my apartment.

After taking a shower, I lay quietly on my bed, staring at the ceiling while Damian’s words replayed themselves over and over inside my head.

I don’t want a girlfriend.

I want a Luna. No matter how many times I repeated those words in my mind, they still felt unreal.

Perhaps…

Perhaps accepting his proposal wasn’t such a terrible idea after all.

My thumb hovered over my phone before finally typing out a message.

‘Damien, are you free tomorrow morning at eight? I’d like to talk about what last time.

Barely a minute passed before his reply arrived.

‘I’ll be home.’

A smile found its way onto my lips before I placed the phone on the nightstand and closed my

eyes.

The next morning, I found myself standing outside Damien’s villa nearly ten minutes earlier than we’d agreed.

I looked down at my phone for what felt like the hundredth time, suddenly wondering if coming early had been a mistake.

Before I could overthink it any further, I reached out and pressed the doorbell.

A few seconds later, the door opened.

Damien stood before me dressed in a loosely fitted black shirt, the top buttons still undone as though he had only just finished getting ready.

His dark hair remained damp from the shower, tiny droplets of water sliding leisurely along

the sharp line of his neck before disappearing beneath the open collar.

My wolf instantly lifted her head.

Even my ears felt strangely warm.

“Damian…” I blurted out before I could stop myself. “Did you just wake up?”

One elegant eyebrow lifted. “We agreed on eight.”

His deep green eyes rested lazily on me before amusement flickered across them. “Why did you come early?”

He leaned casually against the doorway. “Were you really that eager to see me?”

I immediately lost every word I’d rehearsed on the drive here.

“It’s… it’s only ten minutes early.” Unable to meet his gaze, I lowered my eyes my

shoes.

The faint scent of cedarwood and fresh rain drifted toward me.

He stepped aside. “Come in.”

I followed him into the villa, quietly closing the door behind me.

At the entrance sat a pair of pink slippers decorated with tiny crescent moons. My steps paused.

They looked brand new.

When I glanced down at Damien’s feet, I noticed he was wearing an identical pair.

The only difference was that his slippers were blue.

Matching slippers? My heart skipped unexpectedly. Wasn’t he supposed to be single?

Damien noticed exactly where I was looking before following my gaze himself.

Then he chuckled. “Oh. I know what you’re thinking.”

He casually hooked one foot behind the other.

“The supermarket was giving them away as a promotional set. I grabbed the first pair I saw.”

His smile carried unmistakable amusement. “Do you dislike them?”

Realization immediately dawned on me. “So they were freebies…”

The strange feeling in my chest quietly disappeared. “They’re cute. I actually like crescent moons. They’re my favorite shape.”

Damien’s eyes curved with interest. “Is that so?”

He pointed toward a display shelf near the living room. “Then you should look over there.”

Curiosity instantly replaced my nervousness. I walked over before stopping in front of an entire display dedicated to moon sculptures.

Some were carved from crystal. Others had been crafted from jade, silver, marble, and glowing

moonstone.

There were crescent moons.

Full moons.

Half moons.

Even tiny handcrafted lunar ornaments no larger than the palm of my hand.

My eyes brightened almost immediately. “They’re beautiful…”

Without thinking, I gently picked up one of the polished moonstone sculptures, carefully running my fingertips along its smooth surface.

“They’re so white. So peaceful. I love them.”

Damien watched quietly from the couch, the corners of his lips gradually lifting as he listened to me admire every piece one after another.

“I’ve collected them over the years,” he explained. “Friends keep gifting them to me whenever they travel.”
