I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 108

Paxton's pupils contracted.

"Then you're the other woman?"

Chloe shook her head wildly, tears flying from her face.

"No... We're... we aren't even together... I'm not a homewrecker..."

Paxton stood entirely frozen, feeling as though a bucket of ice water had just been dumped over his head.

How pathetic he had been. He actually thought he was fighting a noble battle for a wronged friend.

Just to get revenge for Chloe, he had single-handedly sabotaged the exhibition he had spent five years preparing.

Everything was ruined. He had trashed his own career with his own two hands!

But what stung even worse was remembering the vicious, venomous things he had said to Sienna—an entirely innocent woman—back at the gallery.

In front of a massive crowd, he had pointed at her and called her "the woman who steals other women's husbands," "vicious," and claimed she didn't deserve to treat patients.

Every single word had become a boomerang.

And now, they were tearing him apart.

He turned around and looked at Sienna.

She stood there, her expression completely composed.

This woman was incredibly resilient. Unbelievably strong.

And he had acted like an absolute fool. A despicable idiot.

Paxton opened his mouth.

"I... I am so sorry."

He faced Sienna and lowered his head in a deep, remorseful apology.

Sienna could see the sweat soaking his bangs, sticking them awkwardly to his forehead.

He looked pathetic, but mostly, he looked entirely broken.

Paxton then whipped his head toward Chloe, glaring at her with venomous hatred:

"Chloe! You lied to me! You played me from the very beginning!"

Chloe shook her head, sobbing uncontrollably.

"No... I didn't mean to..."

Paxton stared at her, an agonizingly long stare.

Then, he laughed.

Paxton looked from Finn to Sienna, then nodded slowly:

"I get it. That was out of line. I'm sorry, I'll figure something else out. That's on me to solve."

"Goodbye." He directed his final word strictly to Sienna.

Paxton turned on his heel and walked away.

Chloe collapsed to the pavement, sobbing so hard she couldn't catch her breath.

Whether she was mourning the loss of a lifelong friend or the destruction of her precious agency, no one knew.

Sienna decided there was no reason for her to stay either.

She glanced at Finn:

"Thank you for today. I'll Venmo you for the bail money when I get back."

With that, she turned to walk away.

But a hand clamped around her wrist.

His fingers were scorching hot.

"Wait..."
