I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 170

"You lost the right to my trust four years ago."

Panic seized Finn, and he lunged to grab her hand, but she swiftly stepped out of reach.

His empty hand hovered uselessly in the air.

"We were together for three years. Did I ever lie to you even once? Why can't you just trust me now?"

"Trust you?" Sienna's voice climbed to a vicious shriek. "I did trust you. I trusted that you loved me and that we'd spend the rest of our lives together. And what did I get? You proposed to me, and the very next day, you dumped me. You knocked up another woman and claimed you had to take responsibility. That was the price of my trust. Do you honestly expect me to ever believe a single word you say again?"

Finn was struck entirely dumb.

He slumped back against the heavy oak door, collapsing inward like an uprooted tree stripped of all its strength.

His lips trembled violently, his eyes completely bloodshot.

He simply stared at her, the frantic light in his eyes dying out piece by piece.

There was only despair, unimaginable pain, and a hollow, crushing sense of defeat left behind.

Sienna took a deep, shuddering breath and violently scrubbed the tears from her face.

"I honestly thought we could manage to be civil, maybe even acquaintances, just like we agreed in Kanya. But after tonight, the mere sight of you makes my stomach turn. I never want to see you again."

She reached out and grabbed the doorknob.

Purely on instinct, Finn pushed off the wall to go after her.

Sienna whipped around, jabbing a finger directly at his chest, her glare slicing into him like a frozen blade.

"If you take one more step—if you so much as lay a finger on me—I will hate you for the rest of my life."

Those words were like a rusty serrated knife twisting relentlessly in his chest.

A deathly chill ripped through his entire body.

The pure, unadulterated hatred burning in her eyes was worse than any look she could give a total stranger.

She genuinely despised him.

His limbs completely locked up. Every joint in his body felt rusted shut, paralyzing him in place and robbing him of his voice.

All he could do was watch helplessly as she pulled the door open and walked out into the hall.

The door swung shut in his face.

The click of the latch was deafeningly quiet.

Yet it hit his chest with the force of a wrecking ball.
