Sienna gripped her phone, her knuckles turning white. She bit her lower lip hard, entirely unable to speak.
She knew that every word Lily said was out of love for her.
Standing behind Sienna, Finn offered no defense and made no attempt to dodge the accusations.
His expression remained stoic, but the light in his eyes completely died out.
Every single word Lily said was the absolute truth.
He accepted all the blame.
Sienna turned her head slightly, glancing back at Finn.
She then looked back at the screen.
"I know, Lily. Don't worry."
A man's voice drifted over from the other end of the line:
"Lily, stop meddling in other people's business. It's not right."
The voice was faint, sounding like it came from the kitchen, accompanied by the rhythmic chopping of a knife against a cutting board.
"Sienna is my best friend, her business is my business!" Lily yelled over her shoulder, then turned back to the camera.
"Sienna, listen to me..."
Sienna was stunned.
"Wait, it's so late. Why is there a man's voice in your apartment?"
Lily blinked, then broke into a huge grin.
She held up her hand, revealing a dazzling ring resting on her ring finger.
The diamond was a solid two carats, its facets throwing brilliant, fiery sparks under the light.
"We got married!"
Sienna was completely blindsided.
"What? Married to who?"
"To Isaac! We just went to City Hall today!"
Lily flipped the camera around.
Isaac Holloway stood there wearing an apron, holding a plate of freshly stir-fried food.
He leaned over and gently set the dish down on the coffee table.
He looked every bit the picture of a devoted, domestic husband.
On screen, Isaac's expression was slightly awkward, but the corners of his lips were turned upward.
It was obvious he was incredibly happy.
Finn stared at Isaac on the screen, his voice laced with pure astonishment:
"Isaac? You and Lily got married?"
