Sasha smiled, her eyes crinkling happily like a little girl's.
"You should have said so earlier! I've just been waiting for you to say that. I was worried that if I didn't stick around to help out a friend, I'd look totally heartless. Since you're giving me an out, I'm more than happy to take it. I just got back to Metropolis, and there are so many places I haven't seen yet. I definitely need to go exploring."
Finn's lips twitched upward slightly at her banter.
"I've been holding you up. I'll make it up to you soon."
"I'm going to hold you to that, you know."
Sasha stood up, grabbed her bag, and fluttered toward the door like a social butterfly. She opened it, glancing back at him one last time. "Don't forget to eat your breakfast."
The door clicked shut.
Standing alone in the hallway, the bright smile melted off Sasha's face piece by piece.
She lowered her head, gripping the straps of her backpack tightly as a subtle smirk crept onto her lips.
Back in the living room.
Lance looked at Finn, lowering his voice.
"Hey, can you make it to the office today? There's a lot of stuff waiting for you. You need to pull yourself together."
Finn picked up his bowl and took a bite.
He had figured it out.
Sienna was free.
She had the right to choose whatever kind of life she wanted to lead.
But that only applied if the man she chose was actually worthy of her.
Sienna was pure and kind-hearted, a truly exceptional doctor.
But she didn't have much experience with relationships. She wasn't the best at reading people, and her heart was too soft, making it incredibly easy for her to get taken advantage of.
Finn wanted to help her uncover exactly what kind of man Silas really was.
Finn stood up and walked over to the window, pulling the curtains back.
Sunlight flooded the room, making him squint against the glare.
"I want to go visit Jarvis."
Lance's father, Jarvis Dayton, had always been very close to the Hayes family.
He would undoubtedly know a great deal about them, especially Silas.
-
"When Grant was younger, he actually took Silas under his wing for a while. Silas had just come back from studying abroad, and Grant let him cut his teeth at Fletcher Corporation for a year." Jarvis met his gaze. "Your father understands him on a very deep level. Whatever it is you want to know, you should ask him."
Finn nodded in understanding.
"Thank you, Jarvis."

Finn spent the next two days back at Fletcher Corporation catching up on work.
When he rushed back to the Fletcher Manor the following afternoon, he immediately sensed something was wrong.
An ambulance was parked outside, and several paramedics were just climbing into the back to leave.
His heart sank, and he sprinted inside.
In the living room, Grant sat heavily on the sofa. His left hand was wrapped in bandages, fresh scratch marks marred his face, and a square of gauze was taped to his neck.
The family doctor was in the middle of taking his blood pressure.
Grant looked absolutely furious, but he wasn't yelling. He just sat there in stony silence, letting the doctor work.
"Dad, what happened?" Finn hurried over.
