I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 394

Sienna took her words to heart. She remained quiet for two seconds before giving a small, gentle nod.

"Thank you."

Doris patted her hand affectionately, then turned and wheeled her mother away.

Their silhouettes slowly shrank into the night. Mrs. Gable still had her hand raised, as if waving goodbye to them.

Sienna's eyes grew damp. Unable to hold them back any longer, her tears finally fell.

Finn walked over and silently handed her a tissue, not saying a single unnecessary word.

Sienna took it and carefully dabbed her eyes dry.

"What did she say to you?" Finn asked gently.

Sienna shook her head, the corners of her lips twitching slightly.

"Nothing much."

She paused, looking up at him.

"Let's go sit over there."

As soon as the words left her mouth, she saw an explosive flash of joy light up Finn's eyes, as if a switch had been flipped inside him.

He didn't press her with questions. He simply answered with a single word.

"Okay."

The stone blocks by the lake were massive, their surfaces worn smooth and flat, perfectly sized for two people.

Four years ago, they used to sit here all the time. Back then, she would always lean against him.

She would slump her entire body weight onto him like she had no bones, and eventually, he would pull her fully into his embrace.

She would gaze up at him with shining eyes, and unable to resist her look, he would always lean down and capture her lips in a kiss.

But this time, Sienna sat on one end of the stone, and Finn sat on the other.

The gap between them was wide enough for another person to sit down. She placed her hands neatly on her knees, keeping her back straight and rigid, like a perfectly behaved student sitting at a desk.

Several pleasure boats drifted across the lake, their glowing lights dragging long, shimmering tails through the dark water.

She watched the dancing lights, her voice softer than before.
