It was seven in the evening at the restaurant.
Sasha Beaumont, as expected, claimed she had something to do and didn't show up.
Sienna Sterling, Finn Fletcher, and Lance Dayton were having dinner together.
Finn's expression was grim as he stared coldly at Lance.
"Do you have too much free time?"
Lance's fork hovered in mid-air.
"How is that possible? The final showdown is the day after tomorrow. I haven't even figured out the Vance family situation yet, so there's no way I'm free. The whole company is working overtime. Besides, after that whole Leo Whitmore mess, I've got no face left with you, and it was entirely my fault, so I definitely need to coordinate better with you this time."
Finn's face remained frosty.
"Since you're so busy, go back to the office and work. What are you doing crashing our dinner?"
Lance stopped cutting his steak, glanced at Sienna, then at Finn, and finally caught on. "Are you saying... I'm a third wheel?"
Finn leaned forward.
"What do you think?"
Lance looked at Sienna.
"Dr. Sterling, my apologies."
Sienna smiled.
"I think it's perfectly fine. You're very humorous, Lance. It's interesting talking to you."
Finn remained expressionless, silently swapping his freshly cut steak for Sienna's untouched plate.
Lance clicked his tongue twice.
"Finn, I never knew you were so good at serving—oh, I mean, taking care of people."
Finn didn't look up, the tip of his knife tapping lightly against the edge of his porcelain plate.
"What did you find out? Give me your report. If it's not useful information, you'll pay for it."
Lance cleared his throat.
"Regarding your grandfather's family affairs, I actually did find a little something."
He deliberately emphasized the word 'grandfather.'
There was a teasing edge to it.
