"That's good. I just came to drop off breakfast for Finn. He always forgets to eat."
Sienna glanced at the paper bag, her tone as casual as if she were discussing the weather.
"That's nice of you. I actually haven't eaten either."
Sasha's smile faltered for a fraction of a second, but she quickly recovered her poise.
"Well... I won't bother you two anymore. Finn, don't forget about our dinner tonight."
She dropped the reminder as if it were a casual afterthought.
Sienna tilted her head.
"Dinner together?"
Sasha was quick to reply.
"Yes, it's my birthday today. Finn promised me this morning."
Finn stood beside them, awkwardly rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"...Right, I promised her last month. But since we're getting dinner, Sienna, you should come too. Let's invite Lance as well. The more, the merrier."
Sasha's smile instantly froze on her face.
Her grip on the paper bag tightened unconsciously, crushing the edges.
Sasha didn't say another word, merely curving her lips at Finn in a strained smile.
"Finn, I'll get going now."
She looked completely composed as she walked away, but her footsteps were much more frantic than when she arrived.
Sienna watched her retreating figure until she was far away, before slowly drawling, "A birthday, huh?"
Finn stood next to her, his Adam's apple bobbing.
"She just got back to the country last month, and I agreed to it without really thinking. If it bothers you, I can just tell her I don't have time tonight."
Sienna turned to look at him and flashed a radiant smile.
"Do you want to bet that she's going to cancel on you before tonight even happens?"
Finn was stunned for a second, but she had already turned on her heel and started walking toward the building.
He scrambled to catch up, his strides rushed, sticking closely by her side as if terrified she might ditch him entirely.
Sasha got into her car. The exact second the door slammed shut, the sweet, soft expression on her face vanished without a trace.
The sheer coldness radiating from her made the driver instinctively sit up straight.
