Noticing Sienna's reaction, Finn cast a sideways glance at the screen.
Silas Hayes.
He didn't ask any questions. He simply pulled the car over, killed the engine, and spoke.
"Answer it. It's probably important. His network in the medical system is much wider than yours. If he's calling now, it's definitely not for small talk."
Sienna looked at him, nodded, and accepted the call.
Silas's voice came through the speaker. Skipping any pleasantries, he cut straight to the chase.
"I saw the interview scores. They're posted on the official site. Don't panic. Just follow standard procedure and call the oversight hotline to file a formal complaint under your own name."
"I already did," Sienna replied. "I'm heading over for an in-person meeting at three this afternoon."
The line went silent for a moment. When Silas spoke again, his voice held a trace of subtle relief that hadn't been there before.
"You're as calm as ever. You're hitting every beat perfectly." His tone was even, but Sienna could tell it wasn't just polite flattery.
"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Hayes," she replied. Her tone was polite but distant, like speaking to a senior colleague she rarely contacted.
She wasn't deliberately avoiding anything, but she didn't leave any room for the conversation to become personal.
Silas clearly picked up on it.
He didn't push the issue. Pausing as if to recalibrate his tone, he continued.
"When you went in for your interview, did you see Sasha Beaumont? Did you notice anything unusual about her?"
Sienna spoke up.
"Yes. I suspect her attire violated the rules."
Hearing this, Finn turned his head to look at Sienna, his eyes silently asking: *Why didn't you mention this to me?*
Silas's voice filtered through the phone.
"This whole situation is most likely tied to Sasha. I'm already gathering the relevant evidence. When you go in for your meeting this afternoon, remember three things. First, hammer hard on the dress code violation and refuse to let the topic shift. Second, demand the complete grading records from your specific interview. Third, do not agree to any proposed settlements or handling methods."
Listening to him, Sienna ran through the three points in her mind and realized they aligned almost perfectly with her own strategy.
