I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 507

In that moment, the lost, abandoned child inside Finn's heart finally stopped wandering.

He looked at Maeve.

“Will you... leave again?”

Maeve’s face crumpled with emotion. All of her usual pride and hardened exterior shattered instantly at his words.

She wasn't a woman who cried easily.

But now, the tears spilled over her lashes and streamed down her face.

“If you want me to stay, I’ll never leave. If you don't want to see me, I’ll stay far away and never bother you again.”

Finn felt a strange warmth swelling in his chest.

It was a feeling unlike anything he had known before.

It was comforting.

His voice softened.

“I can't call you 'Mom' just yet. But... we can try. We can try to figure out how to be a mother and son.”

Maeve nodded vigorously, her voice entirely hoarse.

“Okay. Okay. I’m just so happy you’re willing to give me a chance.”

A faint, emotional smile touched Grant's lips as he watched them.

He stood up, looking at them both with deep relief.

He turned to Finn.

“Son, I haven't been a good father, either. Words are cheap, so I won't make grand promises. Just watch my actions from here on out.”

Finn stared at him, almost trying to recognize the man standing before him.

He had known Grant for thirty years. The father in his memories would never have said something like this.

He remained silent for a long time before finally speaking.

“Okay.”

Grant smiled.

It was a somewhat stiff, unfamiliar smile—one he was just learning how to use.

He walked over and patted Finn's shoulder, his tone dropping into something incredibly solemn.

“The first thing I want to do for you as a father concerns your future. After spending time with her, I can see that Sienna is a wonderful woman. You two have been together for years. You should tie the knot this year.”

Finn met his gaze.

“No one wants to marry her sooner than I do. But I refuse to shortchange her. I won't rush this, and I won't do it carelessly. She deserves the absolute best.”

Grant nodded in agreement.
