The living room plunged into absolute silence.
Maeve and Grant exchanged a glance, both reading the sheer shock in each other's eyes.
By silent agreement, they both turned to look at Finn.
Finn just shrugged, his expression clearly saying, *Don't look at me. I have absolutely zero opinions of my own. I just do whatever my wife says.*
The rich aroma of coffee curled up from the mug, slowly drifting through the afternoon sunlight.
Lydia stood frozen in the center of the living room. Her makeup-streaked face twitched faintly, and her lips parted several times, but not a single sound came out.
She took a half-step backward, her heel clicking softly against the floor tiles.
Then, as if every bone in her body had suddenly dissolved, she slowly collapsed onto the floor.
Sienna set her mug down and shifted her gaze to Noah. Her expression was devoid of anger, but the weight of her authority was undeniable.
"Noah, buy Mom and Dad train tickets back home for tomorrow. We won't be keeping them for dinner tonight."
Looking at Sienna right now, Noah felt like he was staring at a god.
He nodded without a second of hesitation.
"Understood, Sienna. I'll book them right now."
He hurried over, grabbing Lydia's arm and hauling her off the floor.
Lydia stumbled, nearly losing her footing before finally steadying herself.
She didn't leave immediately.
Standing in the center of the room, clutching the only expensive handbag she owned tightly against her chest, she looked up at Sienna. Her tone was completely stripped of its former venom, replaced by a pathetic, cautious whisper.
"What you said earlier... about providing for me, paying for my retirement... you have to keep your word."
Sienna leaned back against the sofa, her gaze unflinching.
"If you speak to me calmly like this, I will absolutely keep my word. You and Dad will live very comfortably for the rest of your lives."
"I want to live with dignity, not just scrape by..." A flicker of bitter greed flashed in Lydia's eyes, but her voice remained aggressively subservient.
"That depends entirely on your behavior," Sienna replied coldly.
