He looked at Bonnie, a profound sense of disappointment and coldness creeping into his eyes.
"If she insists on twisting the truth, then let her."
"Bonnie, it's been so long, and you still haven't realized your own mistakes. Even if I wanted to help you, you have to give me a reason to want to help. Instead, you just repeatedly push my boundaries!"
Parrish let out a heavy sigh. "Whenever you finally realize you're wrong and decide to change, come find me. I will give you the exact same opportunities I'm giving Seraphina."
Listening to his speech, Bonnie felt it was utterly absurd.
Why did he think she needed to apologize to a liar for crimes she never committed?
What exactly was her mistake?
It was always Parrish who was completely blind, showering all his favoritism and indulgence onto a two-faced woman, while self-righteously throwing dirt on Bonnie's name.
Bonnie clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.
She lifted her chin, meeting Parrish's gaze head-on as she spoke, enunciating every single word.
"Listen to me very carefully, Parrish. Even if I end up in jail, even if I die on the streets, I will never bow to you."
"If you think you can break me, try it!"
With that, she turned around, feeling dirty for having even looked at them, and marched away toward the street.
Honk—
A deep, commanding horn pierced the quiet street.
A sleek, imposing luxury car slowly glided to a stop right beside Bonnie.
She paused, instantly recognizing it as Quentin's car.
Without a second of hesitation, she pulled open the rear door and slipped inside.
The door slammed shut, and the car sped away, disappearing down the road.
Parrish stared at the vanishing taillights, his pupils contracting sharply as his hands balled into tight fists at his sides.
"Parrish..."
Seraphina covered her mouth, her eyes wide with shock and disbelief.
"Whose car did Bonnie just get into? That car looked... incredibly expensive."
Parrish's throat went dry, his voice dropping to a freezing temperature.
"It was a custom Rolls-Royce. Worth at least a few million dollars."
Seraphina gasped, her expression instantly twisting into something far more malicious.
"Millions of dollars..."
