I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 205

Inside the lounge, separated only by a door.

Parrish's hand had just gripped the metal handle, ready to push it open.

"Stop right there."

Behind him, his father Tobias York's authoritative, stern voice dropped like a hammer. "If he wants to come, he'll come. Why are you going out to fetch him? Can't you host your own engagement party without your older brother? Get back here!"

Parrish's movements ground to a halt.

If he took just one step forward and pushed that door open, he would see the two figures pressed intimately against the wall outside, thoroughly entangled.

But ultimately, he pulled his hand back.

Swallowing down an inexplicable surge of frustration, he retreated into the room, his gaze landing on Vivian with a subtle, meaningful prompt.

Vivian gracefully set down her champagne flute and stood up with a flawless smile.

"Mom, Dad, Zachary should be here by now. I'll go meet him."

Beatrice Xavier's eyes softened with maternal affection. "Alright. Even though he's running a little late, he promised to stay here with you until the wedding, so it's only right you go greet him. He's always doted on you the most."

Vivian smiled softly and walked toward the door in her stilettos.

But the moment she stepped out of the lounge, an agonizingly sharp scene crashed into her peripheral vision without warning.

Just around the corner by the wall.

The famously aloof, untouchable Quentin Vance had Bonnie pinned flat against the wall.

His massive frame almost completely swallowed the petite girl. His broad shoulders were tense, one hand fiercely gripping her waist as he kissed her with an out-of-control, ravenous desperation.

Vivian's footsteps abruptly stopped dead.

Standing in the doorway, the hand she had meant to use to pull the door shut slowly balled into a fist, her perfectly manicured nails digging deep into her palm.

She had never seen Quentin like this.

In her mind, he was perpetually cold and distant, harboring a bone-deep, defensive disgust toward any woman who approached him.

Yet here he was, acting like a rabid beast, demanding a ferocious passion from Bonnie that he had never granted anyone else.

The intense, suffocating wave of lust and possessiveness practically set the cool hallway air on fire.

Bonnie Hayes had actually managed to drag him off his pedestal...

A sharp pain pierced Vivian's chest, but she lost her composure for only half a second. Quickly recovering, she pulled the door shut behind her and walked toward them with a polite smile.
