I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 207

Vivian's hand stalled, the eyeshadow brush hovering a millimeter above Bonnie's lid for half a second. Then, she pulled her hand back and let out a self-deprecating laugh.

"I'm already engaged, and he's already married. In the adult world, there's no need to disrupt other people's lives."

Her tone was so frighteningly calm that it left a bitter taste in Bonnie's mouth.

Bonnie opened her mouth, desperately wanting to admit that her marriage to Quentin was nothing more than a contract—that in three years, they would part ways forever.

But remembering the strict non-disclosure agreement, she forcefully swallowed the words.

"Who knows what the future holds?" Bonnie murmured softly.

A flash of complex emotion crossed Vivian's eyes before she smiled again.

"You're right. Who knows what the future holds? Better not to overthink it and just live in the present."

She pulled a lipstick out of her bag. "Here, let me touch up your lips."

The eyeshadow was already perfect. Just as Bonnie was about to open her eyes, Vivian placed a gentle hand against her forehead.

"Keep them closed for a second. Wait until I'm completely finished before you look in the mirror."

Bonnie kept her eyes obediently shut, feeling the cool glide of the lipstick across her lips. A wave of unexpected gratitude washed over her.

She realized Vivian was actually a genuinely good person.

Rational, gracious, and impeccably composed.

At first, because of Jasper's warnings, Bonnie had been secretly guarding herself against her. Now, she felt a little guilty for being so judgmental.

"Alright, you can open them now."

Vivian's voice pulled her back.

Bonnie opened her eyes and stared at her reflection.

The girl in the mirror had vibrant, flawlessly tinted lips. The slight swelling from the brutal kiss had been skillfully redefined, making her look undeniably sensual and alluring.

"Wow, it looks gorgeous."

Bonnie couldn't help but marvel. "You're incredibly talented at this."

Vivian smiled, slipping the lipstick back into her purse. "It's just because you're beautiful to begin with."

She checked her watch. "I won't keep you any longer; I still have some matters to attend to. Just fix your hair a bit and you're good to go."

"Got it. Thank you so much!"
