I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 218

He shot Parrish a venomous glare. "Just wait, Parrish. I'll be in Harlow City for a while, and I'm going to enjoy watching you become a laughingstock!"

With that, he turned and stormed out.

After taking a couple of steps, he paused and looked back at Vivian, a flash of genuine apology in his eyes.

"Sorry, Vivian. I messed things up for you today. I'll personally come by and apologize properly later."

Vivian pressed her red lips together and offered a faint response.

"Yeah. Go to the hospital and get those cuts looked at."

Zachary waved a hand and strode out of the banquet hall without looking back.

Vivian sighed and walked over to Parrish.

"Come on, let's go to the lounge so I can patch you up."

Parrish's mind was completely consumed by Zachary's cryptic parting words. His thoughts were a chaotic mess.

He let out a cold scoff, his expression dark, and turned to walk away.

"Parrish! Get back here!"

Tobias York was furious, pointing at his son's retreating back and shouting.

But Parrish ignored him, quickening his pace and stepping straight into the elevator.

The confined space felt suffocating. He tugged at his tie, a sharp throbbing pulsing at his temples.

Closing his eyes, he rubbed the bridge of his nose in exhaustion, completely unaware that the doors to the adjacent elevator were slowly sliding open.

Two elevators—one going up, one coming down.

The moment Parrish's doors slid shut, Quentin walked out of the neighboring elevator with his arm securely wrapped around Bonnie's waist.

The two strolled into the lobby, only to find the usually bustling banquet hall eerily quiet.

Bonnie blinked her large eyes, looking utterly bewildered.

"Is the fight over? Did we... miss it?" A hint of disappointment laced her voice.

Quentin looked down at her, a faint, almost imperceptible smile playing on his lips, his gaze surprisingly gentle.

They had only taken a few steps before running right into Vivian, who was preparing to leave.

Seeing Bonnie standing safe and sound next to Quentin, Vivian didn't show a single trace of surprise.

Her expression remained completely neutral. Giving them a polite nod, she turned sideways to head toward the elevator.

"Ms. Xavier."

Quentin suddenly spoke, stopping her in her tracks.
