I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 219

Quentin scoffed. "There will be plenty of opportunities. There's no rush tonight."

Seeing his firm stance, Bonnie had no choice but to obediently shut her mouth.

As she focused on devouring her steak, a few guests nearby holding wine glasses began whispering.

"Did you hear? The eldest young master of the York family showed up with his wife today."

"They just showed their faces and left. Didn't even bother to greet us. Talk about arrogant."

"With him suddenly returning from abroad at a time like this, there's going to be a massive shake-up at the York Corporation."

"The CEO is preparing to expand the company into Arlington. Someone trustworthy needs to stay behind and manage the headquarters here in Harlow City."

"Come on. If the eldest young master really wanted to fight for the inheritance, he should have been the one to marry into the Xavier family. I bet he's scheming something deep. He's probably holding onto a trump card."

Bonnie paused her eating.

She blinked and looked up at Quentin with a hint of surprise. "Parrish actually has an older brother?"

Quentin was swirling his champagne methodically. Hearing her question, he lifted his gaze.

"Why? Who are you worried about?"

His tone betrayed no emotion, yet it inexplicably made the hair on the back of her neck stand up.

Bonnie stared at him, bewildered. "I'm not worried about anyone. I was just asking a question. Why are you overreacting?"

Quentin stared back at her. The dark gloom in his eyes faded slightly, but he still didn't answer.

"Are you full?"

Bonnie pulled a napkin and wiped the corner of her mouth. "Yeah, I'm full."

"Then let's go."

Quentin wrapped an arm around her waist and guided her out.

Since Bonnie had lost her phone, he took her to the mall, picked out the latest flagship model, and helped her get a replacement SIM card.

After dropping her back at Riverstone Heights, Quentin quickly left again.
