He didn't let go until the stretcher was wheeled down the isolated corridor and the mobile privacy screens closed behind it.
Vivian looked furious, glaring at him coldly. "What exactly did you see?"
Zachary raised an eyebrow lazily, returning to his usual flippant demeanor. "Nothing. Jasper's face was as long as if his girlfriend had run off with someone else. What could I possibly have seen?"
Clearly unconvinced, Vivian looked past him toward the bedroom. "Where is Bonnie? What on earth did she do to make Quentin end up like this?"
The smirk on Zachary's lips faded slightly, though he still stood languidly in her way.
"Vivian, stop calling him Quentin like you're close. He's a married man, and you're engaged. I shouldn't have to teach you about boundaries, should I?"
Vivian gave him an icy look, said nothing more, and turned to run outside.
But the medical team moved too fast.
The stretcher was already loaded onto the helicopter, and the privacy screens were being taken down.
Standing on the lawn, Vivian watched the cabin doors slowly close, her hands clenching tightly at her sides.
The wind whipped her long hair around. Her face remained devoid of expression, but her nails were digging deep into her palms.
Meanwhile.
The entire transport process was shielded by screens, so outsiders saw virtually nothing.
Parrish had initially thought he was just going to watch a bit of drama unfold today.
But when the screens were removed and the last man leaped onto the helicopter, his expression changed drastically.
That man was Jasper.
He had crossed paths with Jasper once before when he was in police custody.
Jasper was the executive assistant to the mysterious chairman of Vance Global. He rarely made public appearances but held the authority to handle extremely critical matters on behalf of the chairman.
For him to appear here, personally managing the chaos...
Did that mean the person injured inside the villa was... the mysterious chairman of Vance Global?
Seraphina stood beside him, her face still pale from the bumpy horseback ride. She also spotted Jasper and suddenly frowned.
"That man... I think I've seen him before."
