I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 271

"Parrish, I'm a bit worried."

Parrish looked at her.

Seraphina furrowed her brow perfectly. "It's not always a good sign when someone paralyzed for years suddenly starts walking. If Bonnie used extreme, aggressive stimulants, it might look like a miracle right now, but the rebound could be devastating. Once this party is over, why don't I go with you to check on him? If she did something reckless, maybe I can fix it before it's too late."

Parrish's voice was grim. "Alright."

He glanced back at the loud, celebratory banquet hall, suppressing the furious irritation simmering in his chest.

"Finish up your networking first. I'll take you over there tonight. We can't let her keep running wild like this."

Seraphina offered a tender smile. "Okay."

...

Meanwhile, back at Thorne Manor.

Quentin guided Bonnie toward The Botanical Conservatory.

He clearly knew his way around, navigating the winding corridors, stepping through a moon gate, and leading her down a secluded flagstone path.

Bonnie kept glancing at him, finally unable to hold back her curiosity. "How do you know this place so well?"

Quentin's tone was impossibly casual. "Came here a lot as a kid."

Bonnie was caught off guard.

Quentin cast a sideways glance at her and added, "Actually, you've been here too."

Bonnie stopped dead in her tracks. "Me?"

"Yes," Quentin replied smoothly. "But you were too young. You probably don't remember."

Bonnie blinked, a sudden thought sparking in her mind. "Wait. If I came here as a kid, Master Thorne should remember my name, right? And so should you. Why did everyone only remember my grandfather, but no one remembered me?"

It was a question that had been eating at her for a long time.
