The Conservatory was far grander than Bonnie could have ever imagined.
Rows upon rows of botanical beds were meticulously maintained, the soil rich and damp, the foliage a vibrant, thriving green. Little wooden signs stood before each section, detailing the plant's name, age, and preferred growing conditions.
A gentle breeze swept from the deepest part of the garden, carrying the earthy scent of soil, fresh leaves, and a faint, soothing medicinal aroma.
Sweeping her gaze across the beds, Bonnie instantly spotted several incredibly rare botanicals that were practically extinct on the open market.
Wild Solomon's seal, rare fritillary, and vibrant purple sage...
There was even a small, securely fenced-off plot housing several immaculately cultivated wild ginseng seedlings.
Bonnie's eyes lit up. She immediately pulled out her phone and started taking pictures of the plants one by one.
"The quality of these is unbelievable."
"This Solomon's seal has to be at least seven or eight years old, right?"
"And this one! I can't believe it's actually thriving in Harlow City's climate."
Quentin pulled himself from his thoughts and stood beside her, a faint, indulgent smile playing on his lips as he watched her excitement.
Just then, a bright, amused female voice floated over from behind. "Do you need my contact info, junior peer?"
Bonnie turned around to see her ninth senior peer, Meredith Ward.
She was five years older than Bonnie and, until today, had been Nathaniel's youngest disciple.
Unlike the stiff, self-important peers in the main hall, Meredith exuded an incredibly distinct, magnetic energy.
She wore a fitted crimson dress that highlighted her slender waist and long legs. Her makeup was bold, with a sharp, sweeping eyeliner and vibrant lips. Yet, her smile was so radiant that she didn't look overly done up—instead, she carried a lazy, captivating allure.
Bonnie blinked in surprise, then quickly nodded. "Of course! I'd love to."
The two exchanged numbers.
