Orion bolted out of the house in tears. His chest felt like it was splitting open. He couldn’t believe it. His parents were actually getting divorced.

He sobbed as he ran. The pain didn’t stop, and neither did the question rattling in his head. Was he supposed to go with Demi or stay with Nevin?

Nevin heard the faint sound of footsteps. He stepped out of the room, looked around, and saw no one.

“Demi, can you grab me a towe—”

Water trailed down from his hair, dripping onto the floor. He stopped mid-sentence. The house had been without its woman for a while now.

His eyes landed on the court summons lying on the bed His gaze turned sharp and cold.

“We’re not getting divorced, Demi. You’ll come around. know you will.”

He didn’t bother drying off. Water kept dripping from his hair as he sat down and grabbed his phone. He typed, “How does your husband usually make it up to you?”

Jenna replied with a string of question marks.

Over at Blackwell Group, Jenna was already fuming. She was stuck working late, and her TV dramas would have to wait again.

Now Nevin was texting her? Being CEO didn’t give him he right to treat her like his dating coach.

“Mr. Blackwell, I’m working late. You could’ve just googled that kind of question.”

For half a minute, there was nothing. Then her screen li up with a notification. Gift money. Bold, bright, and impossible to miss.

Jenna’s eyes bulged. “Ten thousand?! Oh. My. God. That insane. No-he’s insane.”

One question. Ten grand. If he kept this up, she could probably quit and make a living coaching his love life full-time.

Her fingers danced across the screen. “Thank you for the gift, Mr. Blackwell. My husband’s pretty clueless too, but during my pregnancy, he actually tried. Like, he made sure I had a mug of water on my nightstand every night…”

Before long, she sent him a full page of suggestions.

Water on the nightstand?

That sounded awfully familiar. Demi used to do that. She didn’t just stop at the water. She’d lay out his crisp shirts every morning too.

He thought about how Jenna’s husband treated her.

He saw Demi within the

message.

He kept reading. Jenna wrote about how her husband had taken care of her-waking up multiple times at night to warm up soup so she could sip it hot whenever she felt sick.

Line after line, Nevin read everything. And every word was something Demi had once done for him.

He had a weak stomach. After long dinners with drinks, he’d come home feeling awful. Demi always had lemon tea ready, and she’d stay up to make sure he got through the night.

There were times he got up at four in the morning to use the bathroom and found her still awake, making sure everything was fine.

After Orion was born, she had even less time for herself Everything she did revolved around Orion and him.

Even then, she was still helping him with the company’s mess.

It wasn’t until she finished training Rhea that she let go little. Even so, she never truly stopped caring.

Nevin’s chest tightened. His breath caught. His heart fel raw and sore.

So all that time, she had been giving him everything.

Back at Blackwell Group, Jenna stared at her phone.

She’d been texting nonstop and hadn’t heard a thing back. With a sigh, she turned back to her work.

Then her phone buzzed again. Another transfer. Another ten grand.

She stared at the screen. Should she take it? Could she really take it?

If she accepted, her conscience might sting.

If she didn’t, it might still sting.
