She had stayed late with Nevin until almost midnight the night before. Early the next morning, she was back at the office again.
Nevin’s gaze darkened. His eyes dropped to the cup in his hand. “This tea is…”
“This ginger tea is something Demi taught me,” Rhea sa.
She looked a little surprised on the surface, but her heart raced fast.
It was only a cup of ginger tea. Still, it caught Nevin’s attention.
Her eyes shifted. Saying Demi taught her was not a lie. Demi just had not taught her on purpose.
Back then, Rhea had already started thinking about replacing her. She copied Demi in many ways. She also watched Nevin’s habits closely.
Demi often made ginger tea for Nevin because his stomach was sensitive. When Demi brewed it, Rhea stood nearby and watched. She even asked about the steps on purpose.
Demi never guarded against her. She told her everything.
“Is something wrong with the taste?” Rhea asked carefully.
“No.” Nevin said.
He set the cup down and did not ask anything else. Rhea placed the folder on the desk and left.
She could not rush this. She had to move slowly. Once Nevin got used to her being there, that would be the moment she replaced Demi.
Back in her office, Rhea talked with Orion through a voice call for a while.
From his words, Orion clearly saw Rhea as an adult. He believed she would find a way to help bring Demi back.
Rhea almost laughed out loud. She could only think he was too young and too simple.
“Demi, look at this. Even if you are pregnant and think you hold the winning card, the person Orion trusts most is still me.”
Pride filled Rhea’s eyes. She posted on Instagram and se, it so only Demi could see it.
The photo showed the ginger tea she had made for Nevin.
“It’s so funny. This is someone’s secret recipe, and he could not even tell the difference.”
She had just seen the cup. Nevin had almost finished it. Only a small sip was left.
See.
Nothing was irreplaceable.
When Demi heard the notification sound, she did not even bother to open it.

After giving Angel a few instructions for later tasks, she rushed back to Snow Group.
The exhibition date was getting closer. She had a lot of work to finish.
At noon, Roderick came by to bring Demi lunch. He also helped take care of some tasks.
They didn’t know Demi had been running between two places. They thought she had taken the morning off.
“Before I came, your mom told me to make sure you drank at least one bowl of chicken soup,” Roderick said. He raised his brows when Demi stopped after two sips.
Carol had worried Demi would find it too heavy. She had removed all the oil. The soup looked almost clear.
Demi frowned slightly. She knew they were worried about her. She lifted the bowl and drank more than half in one go.
“That’s more like it,” Roderick said.
Before he could finish his sentence, Demi rushed to the bathroom and threw up again.
Everything she had just eaten came up with it.
