Chapter 21 Orion Went Too Far
Demi sounded calm.
Nevin frowned, planning to bring her home himself.

But then, through the phone, he suddenly heard Orion shouting, his voice full of anger. “I hate you! I wish you were gone!”
Nevin froze. “Alright. I’m on my way,” he said and hung up.
His handsome expression darkened.
How could Orion talk to his mother like that?
That boy is making things worse. He’s pushing Demi farther away.
Nevin rubbed the bridge of his nose. Clearly, the situation was tricky.
“Mr. Blackwell, did you find Orion?”
Rhea came running from the living room, tears streaming down her face. She was so scared that she almost called the police.
If Orion had gotten lost or hurt under her watch, she could forget about ever marrying into the family.
“Yeah, he’s with Demi,” Nevin said, already walking toward his car outside the villa.
He didn’t notice the flash of malice in Rhea’s eyes.
Rhea’s fingers dug into her palm as her face twisted with anger. Rage flickered in her eyes.
She’d been sick with worry. All this time, that ungrateful kid had sneaked off to see Demi?
So much for being close to her–blood ties still won in the end.
Rhea quickly slipped into the passenger seat before Nevin could stop her.
He gave her a surprised look. “I just need to see for myself that Orion’s okay,” she said softly, her voice trembling with false concern.
Nevin didn’t say another word but simply pressed down on the gas pedal.
Beside him, Rhea finally calmed down, wiping away her tears. The bitterness and jealousy burning inside her were hers alone to bear.
After all this time, Demi had finally done something stupid enough. She had filed for divorce regardless of everything that was at stake.
Everything had been going perfectly. But if Orion’s tantrum somehow brought those two back together…
No. She couldn’t let that happen.

Her fingers curled into tight fists, nails digging into her palms. Nevin glanced at her and mistook the tension for worry.
“Orion’s with his mom now,” he said flatly. “He’s fine.”
Rhea forced a relieved smile. “That’s good. Maybe he just missed Demi.” Her eyes flickered; she was testing the waters and pressed, “Mr. Blackwell, why don’t you let Orion stay with her a few more days? Are you sure it’s a good idea for us to rush up there to bring Orion home?”
She’d overheard Demi asking Nevin to come pick Orion up.
Nevin said nothing.
Rhea sneaked another look at his expression and pretended to be puzzled. “Demi shouldn’t have gotten so mad at him. Orion is just a kid. A mother should be gentle with her child, not lose her temper.”
“They were upset and got carried away,” Nevin interrupted coldly, his brows tightening. He shot her a sharp glance, his fingers flexing once on the steering wheel before falling still again.
That was a clear sign of him running out of patience.
Rhea bit back the rest of her words when she noticed his expression darkening even more.
She clenched her hands and forced out an awkward smile. “Of course, Demi really does love Orion a lot.”
The car fell silent again. Moments later, they pulled up in front of One Studio.
Bang! Bang! Crash!
When Nevin reached the office, he heard crashing sounds coming from inside.
His step paused for a second. After that, he pushed the door open hard.
