Chapter 24 Dad, I’ll Be Good
Demi pleaded, “Please, just let me go. I’m begging both of you.”
Nevin froze at Demi’s word. He didn’t know how to respond.
All these years, he’d been buried in work, leaving most of the parenting to Demi.

Orion, being a kid, only cared about having fun. Rhea was usually the one keeping him entertained.
Nevin had seen it more than once: Orion crying his eyes out in front of Demi, but the moment Rhea. appeared, his tears vanished, replaced with a bright smile.
“If you have nothing else to say, don’t call me again. From now on, the only thing left between us is the divorce,” Demi said coldly.
The line went dead.
Nevin stared at his phone long after the call ended, lost in thought.
“Mr. Blackwell,” Rhea said softly, resting a hand on Orion’s shoulder. She had heard every word of their conversation. “Demi’s just angry. Once she calms down, she’ll come around.”
But in truth, she knew better. Demi had made up her mind.
After everything that happened today–the fight, the hurt–the mother and son were finished.
Rhea could almost taste victory. It was only a matter of time before Demi and Nevin officially ended things.
Hearing her say that, Orion’s tears started to fall again.
“Mom still won’t come home! She won’t forgive me! Waaaa!” He sobbed..
Ignoring Rhea, he clung to Nevin’s leg, crying so hard his little voice cracked.
Rhea said quietly, “Orion, don’t cry anymore. When your mom cools down, she’ll come home.”
Right now, Rhea’s main goal was to calm Orion down.
Kids forget things fast. Give him a little time, and maybe he’d forget all about Demi.
But luck wasn’t on her side.
Orion ignored her completely. When Rhea tried to reach for him, he shoved her hand away in anger.
“Boohoo! Dad, bring Mom back!” He cried, his voice cracking. “I want Mom-”
He coughed between sobs, his little body shaking.
Nevin’s expression tightened. His heart softened. His anger was still there, buried deep. He clenched his phone a little too hard before saying, “Rhea, go home.”

“What?”
Rhea blinked, thinking she misheard.
Demi had just told Nevin that only she could calm Orion down. Why was he sending her away?
She knew Nevin well enough. When he gave an order, there was no arguing.
Rhea glanced at Orion with fake concern.
“Okay, Mr. Blackwell. If he misses me later, I’ll come back.”
Nevin gave a small, stiff nod. With no choice left, Rhea walked out of the villa, frustration twisting inside her.
She thought this was her chance to get closer to father and son and filled the space Demi left behind.
At this moment, Orion should’ve been clinging to her even more.
So why was it the complete opposite?
Once Rhea was gone, only Nevin and Orion were left in the quiet room.
