At Snow Group, Nevin showed up without an appointment and was stopped by the receptionist in the lobby.

After finishing his meeting, Roderick received a call from the front desk informing him that Nevin had personally come to request a meeting. He immediately let out a cold laugh.

“Tell him I’m in a meeting. He can wait if he wants!”

Roderick hung up the phone. He thinks he can upset my daughter and just show up here?

On the first floor, the receptionist put down the phone and smiled politely. “Mr. Blackwell, Mr. Snow is still in a meeting. If you’re not in a rush, you can wait in the reception area.”

Nevin glanced at his watch.

As a CEO, his schedule was packed, but the partnership with Snow Group took priority.

“Alright.”

The receptionist led them into the elevator and showed them to the reception area on the 25th floor before leaving.

Joe followed beside Nevin as the two settled into the reception area.

After sitting for two minutes, Joe realized something was off.

How come no one had brought them coffee?

Snow Group’s staff couldn’t be that unprofessional, could they?

Five minutes, ten minutes, 20 minutes….

Joe watched Nevin’s expressionless face. He wanted to say something but thought better of it. Had Snow Group simply forgotten about them?

“Mr. Blackwell, let me go check.”

Nevin’s expression darkened.

Understanding the situation, Joe stepped out and searched around until he grabbed an employee to ask. They knew nothing.

He ran back downstairs to question the receptionist.

The receptionist made a show of placing a call. “I’m sorry, Mr. Snow is still in his meeting. If you’re pressed for time, feel free to leave.”

Joe had no choice but to return to the reception area and relay the receptionist’s message.

Nevin forced himself to wait another 30 minutes before leaving Snow Group with Joe.

Snow Group wasn’t testing their sincerity about the partnership-they simply didn’t want him there.

It was as if they had a personal grudge against Nevin.

What company forgets to serve coffee or tea to their guests?

Let alone a corporation as large as Snow Group.

Back at Blackwell Group, Joe discovered that Snow Group was hosting an event soon, reportedly for their successor.

Other companies and corporations had all received invitations from Snow Group. Only Blackwell Group hadn’t.

Nevin was certain now that Snow Group held some kind of misunderstanding about him or Blackwell Group.

Nevin’s fingertips tapped lightly on the desk. “Joe, find out why Snow Group is targeting us. Also, get us two invitations to Snow Group’s event.”

Because his plan to meet Roderick fell through, Nevin had ended up wasting over an hour. In the midst of his urgent work, he suddenly received a call from the school.

It was only 3 p.m., nowhere near dismissal time.

Nevin frowned, quite surprised the school would call him.

After all, it used to be Demi who handled taking care of Orion.

“Hello, am I speaking to Orion’s father?

“Orion got into a fight at school. We need you to come right away.”

“A fight?”

Nevin’s heart tightened. “How is Orion?”

The teacher replied, “Please don’t worry, Mr. Blackwell. Orion is fine, but he hit another child.”

“Sorry for the trouble. I’ll be right there.”

A wave of relief washed over Nevin. His first instinct was to reach for his phone and call Demi immediately.

But he realized that Demi wouldn’t answer his calls, nor would she possibly rush to the school to check on Orion.

He couldn’t help but pinch the bridge of his nose.

It seemed that ever since Demi left home, there had been nothing but trouble.

At Bilingual Immersion School.

“I’m gonna smash your face in and teach you not to run your mouth. Just you wait, I’ll beat you…”

When Nevin reached the door of the teacher’s office, he saw Orion inside grabbing another child by the collar, cursing up a storm and still trying to throw punches.

A female teacher had one arm wrapped around Orion, pulling him back while standing between the two children.

“Arlo, you better apologize to me right now!”
