Gordon was quite curious about the woman Nevin had chosen.

“Ms. Dunn, I’ve reserved the presidential suite upstairs. After dinner, why don’t we go up and discuss this more thoroughly?” Gordon swirled his wine glass. “As for the invitation, that’s no problem.”

Rhea remained silent.

She clenched her fists under the table. She hadn’t expected Gordon to be so brazen.

After becoming Nevin’s secretary, she’d rarely encountered workplace harassment.

She remembered when she first started working under Demi. She knew nothing and couldn’t read between the lines. She constantly made mistakes, and while handling business matters, she frequently faced inappropriate advances and harassment.

Once during a business dinner, a client tried to get her drunk and nearly took advantage of her. Demi had stepped in front of her and shut the guy down with just a few words.

That’s when she vowed to become someone like Demi.

Later, she succeeded.

She even completely replaced Demi as Nevin’s secretary.

By now, Rhea had internalized everything about Demi through constant imitation.

Just like now, hearing Gordon’s inappropriate suggestion, she could keep her composure.

“Mr. Bree, it’s just one invitation. I wouldn’t want to take up too much of your valuable time. The fact that I got to share dinner with you is already an honor.”

Rhea spoke gracefully, her mind replaying how Demi had handled such situations.

“Nevin-I mean, Mr. Blackwell-is launching the third phase of his project and is currently selecting from multiple potential partners.”

Rhea deliberately slipped up, calling Nevin by his first name intimately, subtly hinting to Gordon that Blackwell Group would soon have a major project that overlapped with his company’s business.

Hearing this, Gordon reined in his lecherous look and became serious. “Then I’ll have to ask Ms. Dunn to put in a good word for me with Mr. Blackwell.”

“You’re too kind, Mr. Bree. Our company has always thought highly of your

firm.”

Rhea spoke confidently, as if she were the lady of the house.

Hearing this, Gordon became more careful not to underestimate Rhea. He chuckled politely for a bit, then called the hotel staff to bring over the invitation.

After Gordon left, Rhea looked at the invitation in her hand with a victorious air.

“Demi, you were absolutely right. As long as you identify someone’s weak spot, manipulating them is a piece of cake!

“What a shame.

“Back then, you never imagined that one day the networking skills you taught me would be used against you, did you?”

Thinking about how she’d driven Demi away, forcing her to file for divorce, Rhea felt increasingly pleased and triumphant.

She understood Demi better than anyone-she was a proud person with an iron will.

Eight days until the court date.

After Nevin called that day about Orion fighting with another kid to defend her, he hadn’t bothered Demi again.

She recovered at home. Anne changed up the menu every day, making all the dishes Demi had loved as a child.

In just two days, Demi felt like she’d gained ten pounds.

“Demi, latest update-the court date is set for two weeks from now. During this time, you…

Wayne was swamped with work and still didn’t know about the fallout between Demi and Orion.

Though he supported her divorce, with the court date approaching, he wanted to make sure she’d thought this through.

After all, Orion was already six years
