What had she been thinking back then to abandon her parents and marry that scumbag Nevin?

Having decided to start working at Snow Group, Demi still needed suitable work outfits.

So she went to the mall to relax and buy some outfits.

Phoebe was also swamped with work, so Demi didn’t bother asking her to come shopping.

However, Demi hadn’t expected to run into Rhea at a boutique in the mall.

At that moment, Demi had just tried on a knee-length suit dress and stepped out of the dressing room.

“Demi!”

Rhea’s voice rang out. She sounded shocked and angry.

Demi looked up to see Rhea also browsing suit dresses nearby.

She glanced briefly, then turned back to check her reflection in the mirror.

The fit was good and the color was nice, but the style seemed less formal than she wanted.

“Demi, what are you doing here?” Rhea’s expression shifted as she walked over.

Seeing Demi in the suit dress, her eyes showed insecurity and jealousy she wasn’t even aware of.

It was as if she’d been transported back four years.

When Demi had chosen her from among many excellent candidates, Rhea had felt it was out of pity.

Working under Demi, Rhea had made plenty of mistakes at first. Back then, her insecure self had relied on Demi’s encouragement and guidance to grow gradually.

Now seeing Demi with such a commanding presence, Rhea felt afraid.

If this version of Demi came back, would there be any place left for her beside Nevin?

Rhea’s face darkened. Her nails dug into her palms. She absolutely wouldn’t allow that to happen.

“Demi, you haven’t been back in days. You must miss Orion, right? Should I tell him so he can come see you?”

Rhea suppressed her emotions and said provocatively, “Don’t be mad at Orion. Kids can be difficult. It’s not that he’s forgotten about his mother.”

Facing Rhea’s subtle bragging, Demi couldn’t be bothered to respond. She said to the sales associate nearby, “Bring me all the newest styles in the entire color range.”

Rhea’s smile stiffened. She looked at Demi suspiciously.

She didn’t believe Demi truly didn’t care about Orion anymore.

She deliberately showed her left hand and smiled coquettishly. “Demi, you’ve been gone so long. Orion’s become so picky with his food. Even when Helga follows those menus you left to the letter, Orion won’t eat. He’ll only eat when I come over to cook for him after work. And Nevin too…”

“Shut up!”
