Chapter 52 The Formal Handover

Behind Nevin, Rhea bit her lip so hard it looked like she might draw blood.

A 63.

Seeing everyone in the meeting room follow Demi’s words without a single objection made her almost lose her mind with jealousy.

She refused to believe Demi was so capable that people followed her willingly. In Rhea’s eyes, Demi was impressive and competent, but only slightly more capable than herself.

There was only one reason people listened so obediently: Demi was Mrs. Blackwell.

Rhea was bitter. She refused to believe a woman who had been a housewife for years could outshine someone like her, someone who worked in the corporate world every day.

It was all because of that Mrs. Blackwell title.

Sensing Rhea’s hostile stare, Demi looked back coldly.

Nevin frowned slightly when he noticed Demi’s icy gaze. He turned around and glanced at Rhea, who lowered her head, looking “hurt.”

He wondered how deep Demi’s misunderstanding of Rhea ran. Even during such an important meeting, she still had the energy to glare at Rhea.

Nevin pressed his lips together, giving Demi a warning look, signaling her to restrain herself.

Demi sneered inwardly. She had only glanced at Rhea, and Nevin immediately jumped to protect her.

Ridiculous.

Thinking about how Nevin insisted he wouldn’t divorce while still siding with Rhea made Demi feel sick.

After handing over the project folders, only two were left in front of her.

She opened them and pushed them to the center of the table. “These are the contracts for the Bluesky Project and the Wego Project. Look through them and decide who should take over.”

“The Bluesky Project and the Wego Project?”

“Wow…”

“I can’t believe Ms. Snow quietly secured both of these huge projects!”

“Ms. Snow, you’re Incredible. So many companies have been fighting just to get a meeting with the project managers, yet you already signed the contracts!”

“Ms. Snow, when did you sign them? We didn’t hear a thing.”

Demi said nothing as the people from the Project Management Department flipped through the contracts.

Both contracts had official company seals.

Watching everyone praise Demi, Rhea quietly scoffed, convinced Demi only secured the projects by using Nevin’s influence. She believed it had nothing to do with Demi’s own abilities.

Nevin frowned, sensing something was off. His cold eyes narrowed as he studied Demi.

Suddenly, the director of the Project Management Department asked with a puzzled tone, “Ms. Snow, why are you handing these two major projects to us? You already signed them, and the project-based bonuses and year-end incentives are huge.”

She had earned those project-based bonuses entirely through her own hard work.

No one would willingly hand those away.

“That’s right.”

The others finally realized what was happening, especially since Demi had just handed over her documents as if she were doing a formal handover.

Everyone caught on.

“Demi, you…” Nevin’s frown deepened. He already had a suspicion in his heart.

Demi didn’t look at him. “Yes, I’m giving the projects to you because I’m leaving Blackwell Group. I’ve already submitted my resignation letter to the Human Resource Department.”

The moment she finished, Nevin shot to his feet. “I don’t agree!”

“Mr. Blackwell, I followed the company’s rules to resign. Whether you agree or not doesn’t change the fact that I’m leaving Blackwell Group.”

Demi’s eyes were cold. Her tone was calm, as if stating a simple fact.

Nevin’s frustration spiked. He swept a stare across the room, and the others immediately stood up and hurried out.
