Chapter 93 Only Work
She was all business now.
“Good morning, Ms. Snow.”
“Morning, Ms. Snow.”
The hallway filled with greetings as she passed, sharp heels clicking across the floor.
Even the janitor slipped through the crowd just to catch her attention with a quick hello.

No one noticed what the janitor was really doing-quicly keeping people from brushing past Demi or getting too close to her stomach.
It was the usual rush. People packed the corridor, headed in every direction.
“I just saw them load a bunch of imported fruit into the elevator. All for Ms. Snow. Never thought I’d get sick of eating imported fruit.”
“It’s not just fruit. She’s handing out those cakes from Michelin restaurants. Even the snacks are imported.”
“Who’s sending her all that? No way she’s buying them herself.”
“Whoever it is must be someone as high up as she is. No normal guy could afford that.”
The voices weren’t loud, but Demi heard them. Her expression didn’t change.
She knew exactly what they were talking about. The fruit was delivered same-day. The price tag was insane. Just shipping cost a fortune.
She would never have spent that much on a
3gular basis. But Nevin…
If that was how he wanted to handle it, she wouldn’t say a word.
“Ariel, grab a couple of guys. Take a few boxes from my office and split them up between departments.”
She had been about to call someone over anyway, so she just turned to the nearest group.
But when she glanced back, she jumped a little. The janitor was standing right behind her.
“Oh, Ms. Snow.”
The woman looked just as startled, then smiled with an awkward chuckle. She didn’t dare admit someone had paid her to keep an eye on Demi. She just kept grinning like she’d wandered over without a reason.
Demi figured the woman probably wanted some fruit but felt weird asking.
So she gave her a warm smile and waved her to follow. When they reached the office, she handed her some fruit and a few pieces of cake.
The woman thanked her over and over, clutching the food like it was treasure. And in her heart, she decided that even without the money, she wouldn’t let anything happen to Demi on her watch. Not even a trip or a slip.

At Blackwell Group, Nevin had just opened his planner when Joe walked in with the day’s schedule. Once he finished reading it off, Joe added, “Sir, one of our people on Mrs. Blackwell’s team says she’s in a great mood today. She got to the office early and handed out fruit herself. Even our plants got half a box.”
Nevin froze for a second. His eyes narrowed. “She’s actually in a good mood today?”
“That’s what they told us,” Joe said.
He glanced up and caught Nevin’s look. Right. He had missed the part that really mattered.
Sure, Demi being happy was great. But the expensive fruit that Nevin had chartered planes for? She was giving it out like it was candy at a parade.
And the man wasn’t even fazed?
Nevin just hummed.
Joe stared at the numbers swirling in his head. The cost was outrageous. “Should we maybe ease up on the fruit?”
What he meant was, just buy some nice ones locally. Enough for her to snack on.
No need to fly them in daily.
Nevin didn’t lift his head. “If she likes it, then we keep doing it.”
Joe gave up. There was no talking him down.
After he left, Nevin leaned back in his chair. She was upset that morning, but she got to work and cheered up?
That had to be a pregnancy thing. The mood swings were brutal.
“So that means the divorce talk wasn’t really about me. was the hormones.”
He let out a breath, chest finally feeling lighter. Then he grabbed his phone and opened Instagram to message Jenna again. He needed more advice.
Demi’s sudden change in attitude toward Rhea might’ve come from the pregnancy too.
After all, she was the one who had brought Rhea in. She always protected her. Always cared.
