It Doesn’t Matter Anymore novel Chapter 31

Chapter 31

Back in the office, I looked at the fully stocked bookshelf and the geological research reports scattered across my desk. These were the fruits of my labor, marking the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Over time, I earned a reputation in the field of geology and gradually became a leading figure in research. My studies have helped many geologists and explorers, and my name is wellknown in academic circles. Every time I stand at a podium, sharing my discoveries and insights, I feel a deep sense of satisfaction and pride

Meanwhile, James Williams faded from the limelight after the incident. I heard that he reinvented himself as a more responsible travel blogger. His videos shifted from mere thrills and entertainment to sharing knowledge and culture. He retraced every place I had explored, capturing oftenoverlooked natural beauties and geological wonders through his lens. One day, I received a letter from James It said Roselyn, I have walked through every place you once explored. I have seen the world through your eyes and understood your perseverance and passion. I hope you can forgive me. Maybe one day, we can explore the world together as friends

A wave of bitterness washed over me as I finished reading the letter, like a cup of strong black coffee hitting my heart. Our paths had diverged, never to cross again I lit the letter and tossed it into the fireplace, watching as the flames slowly turned the paper to ash, only to wake up and realize it was all a dream

After being criticized online, Lorelai, in despait, pleaded to see James one last time, using her looming death as persuasion. James, unsuspecting, agreed to meet her but was tragically attacked, his throat slashed with a razor blade hidden beneath a pillow. Lorelai, her face spattered with his blood, laughed wildly. Her time was running out, as a viral infection from her amputated wounds spread to her brain, causing meningitis and leading to her eventual death. These two, who once boasted of their childhood bond in front of me, set off on their final journey to the afterlife together.

And so, I started anew, setting out to explore every corner of the beautiful world. With my knowledge and enthusiasm, I aim to influence and inspire others. I am determined to be a perpetual traveler, always on the road.

The End.
