Scar-face nudged my leg through the bars. “Loyal guy.”
I coughed, tasting blood. I sat up straight. “How much did Serena pay to kill me? I’ll double it.”
He went still, then grinned. The act dropped. “She wants you gone. But money talks.”
With trembling fingers, I pulled out my cracked phone. One call. Two hundred million, wired. They checked, then unlocked the cage.
I walked out, hailed a taxi, and went to the private airfield.
Before boarding, my phone buzzed. Notification: One Billion Dollars – Transfer Received. Then a message:
