Chapter 70
“Moon Goddess,” Joseph chuckled, burying his face in my neck, breathing me in For a second, I thought toy Ling was. me a lone wolf”
I tried to pull away. The mark removal had drained me. My wolf felt weak, faded. My vision went black
I woke up in the pack hospital Antiseptic smell.
The healer, Mara, was serious. “Your wolf is weak. Needs nutrients. We have to watch you.”
I lay there. A needle in my hand. Bored, looking out at the dying forest.

“You’re the best.” He sighed, relieved, and left.

Messages from Ada. One after another.
A pup ultrasound picture.
[Luna, look! His little heir! Joseph already says the pup feels strong, like him. He’s buying us everything.]
A photo. Them in the den. Naked. Joseph’s back was scratched up.
[Last night Joseph couldn’t get enough. I was scared he’d hurt the pup. He says my body’s addictive. Sweet and hot. Not like you. He says you’re
dead in bed…]
