The Enforcernent Elder looked at his screen. “Joseph, your former mate left a signed severance pact Deregistered her mark She ate on oursone

She’s not missing. We can’t send the trackers.”

“She is missing!” Joseph shouted. “If I can’t find her, she’s missing!” He slammed his hand on the table, claws gouging the metal

money! Just let me search! I’ll fund the whole Council!”

“Calm down. That’s the Wolf Code,” the Elder said, cold. Final.

They escorted him out. Hope was gone.

Outside, the sun was too bright. He swayed. If the law said no, he’d go underground.

He pulled out his phone. Called bounty hunters. Info brokers.

“Find me a wolf. Lois.”

“I’ll pay ten million Gold Claws. No-fifty million! Find her, dead or alive. Fifty million to whoever does.”

The high bounty spread fast. Flyers everywhere. He couldn’t believe money wouldn’t work.

A sleek black car pulled up. Window down. A man in a suit, glasses.

“Alpha Joseph?”

“Who are you? News about Lois?”

“I’m Kaelen. Attorney from The Unclaimed Howls. I represent Ms. Lois… or rather, Ms. Lois now.”

Kaelen pulled a document from his briefcase. Magic shimmered on the seal. “Before she left, Ms. Lois gave me full power of attorney. I’m handling the dissolution of your mate bond.”

Joseph’s world tilted. “I tore up that pact. That was just a notice.”
