Chapter 82

Chapter 82

David H. Koch Theater.

The tall man, wrapped in the bitter chill of the deep winter outdoors, stood in the darkness, his eyes fixed on the stage where the dazzling

one-of-a-kind Black Swan danced.

The Black Swan was both graceful and captivating.

With every stretch of her limbs, there was an almost hypriotic magic about her, an allure that stirred an irresistible impulse to consume her completely, to devour her whole.

As the performance neared its end, the man withdrew his gaze, his expression unreadable, and turned sharply to make his way backstage

The final ballet performance came to an end, and Liora, who had danced through the pain, surveyed the backstage area that had once been her

domain.

She had been learning ballet for as long as she could remember. Unable to speak, her adoptive mom had worried about her future livelihood When she discovered Liora’s talent for dance, she squeezed every last penny to train her to be a ballerina.

And now, she was suddenly unable to continue.

It was a lie if she claimed she didn’t feel sorrow.

After removing her makeup, she rested her hand on her aching waist and wearily walked toward the principal dancer’s private dressing room.

She pushed open the door and stepped inside, but before she could reach for the light, her wrist was seized by someone who had been waiting. She was swiftly pulled inside.

The door clicked shut behind them, locking with a soft snap.

Liora’s momentary panic faded as a familiar scent enveloped her..

It was Lucas.

What was he doing here?

Before she could figure it out, punishing kisses fell upon her lips, as urgent as a storm.

Liora instinctively tried to push him away, but Lucas was tall and furious, exerting a heavy pressure on her that left her no room to escape

In a desperate reflex, she bit down.

The taste of blood filled her mouth, but it was useless.

What Jennie didn’t know was that every time she mocked Lucas, claiming he hated her and would never sleep with her, Liora didn’t bother to respond to Jennie’s misguided assumptions.

Lucas hated her, despised her, yet couldn’t stop himself from being consumed by her body.

Years of mutual understanding had left them both familiar with each other’s every move, every gesture-how to tease, how to please.

It was second nature to them now, their bodies memorizing it all.

110%

In the pitch-black room, Liora’s thoughts quickly spiraled into chaos.

In the haze of it all, she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder as Lucas bit her.

Liora could tell he was furious.

Her disgust for him grew.

This man’s temper hadn’t changed one bit.

He had caused her old injuries to flare up last night, and now he was here, losing his mind again.

She was done. She had agreed to divorce him, hadn’t he always wanted that?

The divorce papers had been signed since their wedding day.

Now, he could have his wish and be with his heart’s true desire, out in the open!

What was he angry about now? What was this rage even for?

Just because she was the one who asked for the divorce?

Backstage, the area was bustling with activity.

Liora could even hear a familiar assistant director rushing past her door in a hurry.

If anyone found out about this, she’d become the biggest scandal in the ballet world, internationally known!

Just the thought of it made Liora want to crawl into a hole.

She bit her lip hard and covered her mouth, afraid to make a sound.

Unexpectedly, the man, seeing her like this, became even more vicious.

Of course, he despised the fact that she was mute, so every time they were together, he found perverse pleasure in forcing her to make a soun

The harsh fluorescent light blinded her.

Lucas sat on the couch, satisfied, his posture lazy but his clothes immaculate, still looking every bit the handsome, impeccably-dressed man.

Liora’s expensive ballet costume lay in tatters on the floor.

She had taken a quick shower in the bathroom and now wore a loose training outfit. Lucas glared at her with a cold expression.

“You’re asking for a divorce?” he asked bluntly.

His voice gave no hint of emotion.

Liora looked up at him.

The man still had the face she once adored, but now he was always in a suit, cold and formal, no longer resembling the boy she had fallen for.

In her gaze, the adoration was gone, replaced with an empty, distant look.

Without hesitation, she nodded, her resolve clear and unwavering.

Lucas raised an eyebrow and sneered, asking in a casual tone, “Because of Jennie?”

For some reason, Liora’s outburst seemed to bring a strange, hidden satisfaction to Lucas’s heart.

But then…

Liora, with her delicate, beautiful face, shook her head seriously.

She met his gaze with the same calm and determined eyes, then signed.

“No, I just don’t love you anymore. That’s why I want a divorce.”

Her words were short, without any trace of hesitation or desire for further entanglement.

Lucas watched her hand movements, and the faint joy in his heart vanished in an instant.

His mind went blank for a moment.

Then, memories from many years ago flooded his mind, memories of that rainy night, of the woman who had pushed him into the mud

He remembered her furious gestures.

“Yes! I don’t love you anymore! So don’t call me Mom again. You and your dad disgust me!! Get out! Get far away from me! I never want to see yo

again!”
