“But it’s still so far away!”
Even by plane, it was more than ten hours.
Stella laughed. “Then I’ll come see you.”
“You say that now, but once you’re back in Eirden, you’ll have plenty to deal with.”
At the beginning of a separation, people always said it would be easy.
That distance would not matter.
That they could visit anytime.
But once people were truly far apart, seeing each other became difficult.
Some people parted believing they would meet again soon.
Then five years passed.
Ten years.
And sometimes, they never saw each other again.
“What about Felix? Is he going back with you?”
“I don’t know.”
Stella truly did not know.
At the thought of Felix, her mood darkened even more.
In the end, the reason she and Evan had ended up together had everything to do with that first encounter with Felix.
And the more she thought about it, the more despicable Evan seemed.
“What’s wrong?”
Jennifer noticed Stella’s expression.
Why did she suddenly look upset the moment Felix was mentioned?
Stella said, “The reason I married Evan actually had something to do with Felix.”
“What do you mean?”
Jennifer did not understand.
What did Stella marrying Evan have to do with Felix?
How could those two things possibly be connected?
Stella said, “Didn’t you ask before why Felix has been so good to me?”
“Yeah. Ever since you and Evan started fighting, the way he treats you has been strange. If you were already divorced, that would be one thing. But you still weren’t.”
That was why both Stella and Jennifer had always wondered what was behind Felix’s behavior.
So what did Stella mean now?
Had she found out?
Stella sighed. “I told you why I agreed to Evan’s proposal, didn’t I?”
