Martha's gaze on Lisa was sharp.

Just as Lisa was about to cave in under the intensity of Martha's gaze, Martha stood up. Before she walked out of the room, all she said was, "Finish up the milk and sleep early."

"That's it?" Lisa mumbled to herself as she watched the door close behind Martha. She'd been convinced that she'd have to go through hell tonight.

But she had a strong premonition that Martha had sensed something. Otherwise, she wouldn't have behaved so peculiarly tonight. But why had she just dropped things like that?

Unable to fathom Martha's actions, Lisa lay back in bed. But her mind was reeling. Though Martha had always been strict with her, Lisa understood that she did it out of love and was only trying to guide her onto the right path in life.

Yet somehow, without realizing it, she'd grown distant from Martha—so much so that she couldn't even bring herself to tell her that she was in a relationship.

She still remembered when she was younger and just beginning to develop an awareness of romantic feelings. Back then, Martha had told Lisa to let her know if she ever fell for someone, as she was curious about the kind of person Lisa would like.

Lisa had agreed readily. But in the end, she always acted first and informed Martha about things after all was said and done.

The more she thought about it, the worse she felt. Eventually, she lost even the desire to sneak out. So, she sent Logan a text message. "I'll see you off in the morning."

Logan had a hunch that something was off when he saw the message. "Are you alright?"

Lisa knew that he was worried, so she told him about her conversation with Martha earlier on. In the end, she told him, "I'm feeling a little guilty."

"Then stop overthinking and get some rest. Wait for me to come back."

Lisa stopped replying to his message and washed up before settling into bed. But somehow, sleep eluded her.

Since she couldn't sleep, she kept needing to use the bathroom. After her third trip, Martha came out of her room. "Is there something wrong with your stomach?"

"No, I just had too much milk."
