Love's Redemption (Chris and Maddie) novel Chapter 947

Could it be that Lisa had unintentionally gave Logan the wrong impression?

This was absurd. If it got out, what would others think of her?

What kind of person would they take her for?

It was absolutely unacceptable, even if Logan claimed he wasn't related to the Cohens by blood. In everyone's eyes, she was still his niece. If they were together, it would go against all social norms and ethics.

He must have gone mad to have said such things.

But she wouldn't go along with it. She had to put an end to his notion. The only way to do that was to find someone to be in a relationship with.

But who could she find?

Should she go to Keith?

No, that wasn't an option.

That would be unfair to him, using him when she needed him and then breaking up with him when she didn't.

Lisa was at a loss for what to do, so she slammed on the brakes and stopped her car by the side of the road. Then, she rolled down all the windows to let the cold wind blow on her, trying to clear her mind.

When she came to see me, I was working on a leaf carving. I had recently seen someone online carving designs onto leaves and thought it was interesting, so I decided to give it a try.

She sat down across from me without saying a word. I was focused on the blade and didn't look up. "Wait a minute! Let me finish this."

"Can you hook me up with someone?" Lisa said suddenly. My hand trembled, and the blade pressed too hard, ruining the leaf.

I didn't even know how many leaves I'd ruined by then. I was so used to failing at it that I didn't care anymore. I put away my blade and looked at her. "What's gotten into you this time? Do you really need help with that?"

A cloud of gloom hung over Lisa as she uttered, "Let's just assume I need it.

"Cut it out. I'm serious." She thought for a moment. "Give me Xander's number."

I stared at her in shock. "If you're looking for an escape, don't drag someone else down with you."

She pressed, "Are you going to give it to me or not?"

Just then, Brandon walked over. "Dr. Carline, why are you being so harsh with my wife?"

She turned and said to him directly, "Give me Xander's number."

I was about to speak when her eyes narrowed, giving me a look that could kill.

Brandon looked at me, but I still spoke up. "She wants to date Xander."

"That's great. We should support her." To my surprise, he readily gave her Xander's phone number.
