"I'm amazed that you've gotten smarter since getting pregnant!" Brandon teased me. "Everyone always says that pregnancy makes women dumber."

I playfully kicked him with my foot. "Did Logan ask you to say that?"

"No, I came up with that on my own," he replied. I knew he wouldn't lie to me.

I sighed. "Love is a matter between two people. No one else should interfere. I think what Logan did might make Lisa realize her true feelings."

"Let's just wait and see," he said. After giving me a massage, he applied lotion and stretch mark cream.

"Give your daddy a little nudge, sweetheart," Brandon said, gently stroking my belly.

After he said this, the baby did move. I had to admit, this little one was very obedient to him.

"Just a little wiggle, okay? Mommy's feeling tired. You be a good little baby and let her rest," he instructed the baby.

The baby indeed only moved a few times and then stopped. I couldn't help but be amazed. "I have a feeling our baby is going to be a real angel."

"You love Mommy just like Daddy does, don't you?" he said, kissing my belly. "You're such a good baby!"

He got up and kissed me again. "Don't think about anything else. Let's go to sleep."

Due to the pregnancy, I fell asleep quickly. But Lisa seemed to be having a hard time falling asleep. Her mind was racing, and she kept scrolling aimlessly on her phone.

Martha, who couldn't sleep either, came out to get some water and saw Lisa still awake. "Go upstairs and sleep. I'll call you if anything happens."

Martha sighed and sat down. Lisa leaned over, resting her head on Martha's lap. "You're so heavy," Martha said.

"Mom, do you like Uncle Logan that much?" Lisa asked again.

Her eyes looked distant, gazing somewhere far away. "Even though he's my brother, from the moment I first met him, I've always treated him like one of my own children."

She reminisced about the details of Logan's growth and her affection for him. And then she said, "Honestly, I know deep down that I love him more than I love you."

"Mom, if I'd known you liked him so much, I would've snagged him and made him your son-in-law," Lisa said daringly.

She was trying to gauge Martha's reaction.

Although she had tried this before and been interrogated by Martha, this time was different. Logan had brought his girlfriend home.
