Love's Redemption (Chris and Maddie) novel Chapter 981

"That just means fate is working in your favor," I said, looking at Lisa. "Have you figured it out yet? Do you really like Logan and want to be with him? Or do you feel uneasy, maybe even jealous, when you see him being kind to other women?"

Lisa responded quickly, "No."

I chuckled. "That means yes."

"I said no. Did pregnancy affect your hearing?" Lisa retorted.

"Your denial is too deliberate. It's obvious you're saying the opposite." I exposed her.

Lisa didn't try to hide her feelings from me. She looked at me for a few seconds. "Well, aren't you clever."

I encouraged her. "Lisa, if you really like him, can't you just be brave for once?"

That day, Brandon's words made me realize something important. The biggest issue between her and Logan wasn't whether their families would accept their relationship. It was whether Lisa was willing to take the next step.

At this point, it was clear that Logan was truly patient, willing to wait for her to come around.

"Now that he has a girlfriend, what's the point of being brave? I can't be the other woman, can I?" Lisa finished her coffee in one gulp.

"Lisa, that's coffee, not wine." I reminded her with a smile.

Looking up at the sky over my estate, Lisa paused for a moment before speaking. "It's getting cold, and it's going to snow. What are you going to do about this place?" She changed the subject abruptly.

"Don't worry about it. You'll see when the time comes."

Logan had already arranged for someone to come and work on the place tonight. Since the estate was a secluded area, we didn't have to worry about disturbing the neighbors.

"Logan still likes you." I could only hint at this much.

Lisa snorted. "If he likes me, why did he get a girlfriend? What a jerk!"

I defended Logan. "Why are you being so mean? Just because he likes you, and you're not interested, doesn't mean he can't find someone else."

Lisa suddenly looked at me. "Maddie, how come you're suddenly so biased toward Logan? What did he do for you?"

Unfortunately, I had never met Emma, so I didn't know much about her.

"No need for all that, Ellie," Lisa said truthfully. "Just greeting me happily when you see me is enough."

Over the years, she had saved many children and helped many families. Though they tried various ways to thank Lisa, she always refused.

"How's college going? Still busy?" I asked Ellie.

"I'm about to go on break, so it's not busy anymore." When she said this, I suddenly remembered about that.

I also understood what she was hinting at. She would be leaving college for the holidays and, of course, wouldn't be going back to her hometown.

"If you don't have other plans during the break, why don't you come stay at the estate?" I extended the invitation.

Ellie looked at me, then at Lisa, and gently shook her head. "Mae, I have other arrangements."
