Love's Redemption (Chris and Maddie) novel Chapter 987

"Uncle Logan," Lisa called out softly.

Logan heard her, but didn't respond.

Lisa frowned. What was wrong with his ears?

She raised her hand and pinched his earlobe. "Logan, can you hear me? I'm talking to you."

Logan froze, his whole body tensing up...

Damn it!

His earlobe was his weak spot!

"Let go!" he said coldly.

"Why are you ignoring me? Is something wrong with your ears?" Lisa asked, pinching his earlobe a few more times.

It was round and thick, like a little bead, very fun to play with.

Logan couldn't stand her tormenting him like this. He moved his head trying to break free, but Lisa became even more mischievous. The more he tried to shake her off, the more she held on.

In the end, he gave up.

"Uncle Logan, your earlobe is so thick," Lisa slurred, the wine she had drunk taking effect. "Fortune tellers say people with earlobes like yours are blessed." She called him "Uncle", but she treated him more like a childhood playmate.

Logan had no choice but to carry her as they walked forward. Despite the torment, he didn't quicken his pace. It seemed he was savoring the moment.

"They're pretty to look at, but they don't serve their purpose." Lisa started criticizing his ears since he was still ignoring her.

Lisa closed her eyes, feeling his warmth. "Honestly... I don't really... want you to... marry her..."

She spoke slowly, emphasizing each word.

A glimmer of light flickered in Logan's dark eyes. "Why don't you want me to marry her?"

As he finished speaking, Lisa felt a rapid thumping beneath her hand, right where it rested on his chest.

This was where the heart was.

No matter how much she drank, she still knew that.

"Uncle Logan." Lisa raised her head and stared at his throat. "If I tried to take you back from Joelle, do you think I'd succeed?"
