Love's Redemption (Chris and Maddie) novel Chapter 999

Brandon gave me a sense of security and emotional support. With him by my side, depression didn't even dare to knock on my door.

He laid out the greeting cards and prepared the nib pen. He even set up a camera nearby to record the moment.

"What should I write?" I asked, looking at the blank cards in front of me.

"Write whatever you want." Brandon was very accommodating, giving me complete creative freedom.

I glanced at the estate and noticed the people sitting alone. Suddenly, inspiration struck.

I picked up my nib pen and wrote, "No smoke curls from the chimney, yet my heart finds ease. Warmth within, a peace I find. The new day is here, for you and me."

When I finished writing, I looked at Brandon, who was smiling faintly. I immediately frowned. "Don't you dare laugh at me!"

"I'm not. It's very good. I didn't know my wife had such poetic talent," Brandon said, taking the nib pen from my hand. "And your calligraphy is impressive too."

Hearing this, I thought of my parents. When they were alive, they encouraged me to develop my talents in every way possible. Later, when I lived with the Gildon family, they also asked if I wanted to continue learning. But being a guest there, I knew my place and gave up many things claiming lack of interest.

But the books I had read and the places I had been left their marks. Even when I picked up my pen again, I could still feel the familiarity in my hands. My skills might not compare to a professional's, but they were good enough.

Brandon had me sit down and showed me the footage he'd taken. I realized he'd recorded the entire process of decorating the courtyard. "I didn't want you to miss out and feel disappointed," he explained.

He really understood me.

After the ink dried, Brandon and I started putting up the cards outside. Seeing my heavily pregnant self trying to help, some of the customers in the estate immediately came over to assist.

What started as a task for just the two of us soon became a lively group effort. A young woman even offered to cut out paper decorations.

Brandon provided her with the tools. She started cutting with remarkable skill, creating beautiful designs. She even made a paper-cut of me, heavily pregnant, leaning against Brandon. I was overjoyed and loved it.
