As we returned to the tea house, I could already feel the strong festive atmosphere before even getting out of the car. Bright decorations hung on either side of the gate, and colorful lights were wrapped around the wooden railing of the estate.

"I've already taken care of most of it, but I've left one part for you to handle, as the lady of the house." Brandon kept me in suspense.

Given my large belly, I shouldn't be exerting myself. But he understood my desire to participate in setting up the festive atmosphere.

I had to admit, he was becoming more and more thoughtful. He seemed to understand me without me having to say a word.

He helped me into the yard. To my surprise, despite it being Christmas Eve, there were still customers, most of them alone.

They sat quietly, some staring into space, others reading, and a few writing.

On this day of family reunions, these people were hiding out here, and it wasn't hard to guess why.

"Let's give each of them some dessert," I told Brandon.

He understood my intention. After helping me sit down, he went inside to fetch the desserts, giving one to each guest.

He even brought one for me. "You have a bite first, and then we'll get back to work."

Looking around the estate, I saw wreaths and garlands on the gates, doors, or along railings. The chairs had red cushions, and the tables had new green plants, creating a festive and lively atmosphere.

"You've already taken care of everything. What's left for me to do?" I asked Brandon after looking around.

He smiled. "Of course, there's something, and it's the most important part. We've taken care of the high and hard-to-reach places, which aren't suitable for a pregnant mom like you to handle."

That was indeed the case.

I took a break, holding my stomach, and let Brandon lead me into the house.
