Luna's Deadly Deception: How She Made Her Alpha Pay novel Chapter 11

Kieran advanced on Aurora, his aura radiating deadly cold. She tried to defend herself: "She attacked me first! I was just retaliating!"

"Lies!" Kieran's eyes blazed crimson as his hand closed around her throat. "Thea would never stoop so low. She wouldn't even acknowledge your existence!"

"The... the pup..." Aurora gasped.

Kieran released her, snarling, "Only your pregnant state saves you. Be grateful you still have that value!"

After the pack dispersed, Kieran contacted Sarah.

"Celebrating your new mating, Alpha?" she sneered. "Sorry to miss the grand ceremony."

"It's a misunderstanding," Kieran rasped. "I need to explain to Thea."

"Misunderstanding? Getting your old flame pregnant is a misunderstanding?" Sarah's voice turned cold. "You know how much Thea sacrificed for your bond."

When they'd met, Thea had been preparing to join her family's Northern Pack after university. Instead, she'd stayed for Kieran, visiting her ancestral lands only one week each year, all because he'd asked her to "stay with me."

During their five years mated, outsiders saw her as a decorative Luna. Few knew how many pack alliances came through Thea's diplomatic skills. Every pack member, from elders to servants, respected her deeply.

"She... knows about the pup?" Kieran's face drained of color.

"You'll pay for this betrayal, Kieran."

The next day in Kieran's office, his beta reported hesitantly: "Alpha... Luna Thea has gone to Norvaria..."

Norvaria. Kieran's face darkened as despair consumed him. Five years ago, when they formalized their mate-bond, Thea's parents had made him sign a blood oath - if their daughter ever returned to Norvaria heartbroken because of him, he could never set foot in that country. Any attempt to do so would automatically forfeit all his holdings to Thea.

"Book me a flight to Norvaria. As soon as possible."

"Alpha," the beta hesitated, "the moment you enter Norvaria, that blood oath activates - whether you win her back or not. You'll lose everything. Are you certain you want to go?"
