Luna's Deadly Deception: How She Made Her Alpha Pay novel Chapter 95

The crowd continued to coo and watch in awe of the display that was going on. My head was starting to ache just a little with how much I'd been rolling them.

"He's such a good man." A woman seated in front of me fawned.

"I know right?" Another woman piped in. "You don't get to see a lot of men like him these days."

"He's definitely the standard. Look at how much he loves her. He literally donated that in her honour." The woman went on, unable to tear her eyes away from the couple on stage.

Bella did a pretty good job of putting on a convincing act for everyone. She was all smiles as she held on to Zack's arm, beaming when she needed to and thanking the crowd as well.

"Thank you so much, Zack." She went in for a hug. "I love you now and always."

"I love you too, my world." He smiled, placing a small peck on her head.

"I wish I had that kind of relationship." A lady at the far end of my row let out a sigh.

"You attract what you are." Another man retorted in a snarky tone.

"Of course I know that!" The woman shot back. "I'm just saying, a mate relationship blessed by the Moon God is bound to be prosperous."

As the crowd continued to gush and fawn over Bella and Zack's relationship, I noticed something else. The pressure I'd initially been feeling from having these particular men seated on both sides of my seat had significantly gone down.

It was no longer as suffocating as I'd previously chalked it out to be. Quentin had a bored look on his face as he watched their public display of affection.

I was finding it hard to believe Bella's act myself. She had said Zack was her mate despite making ‘fuck me' eyes at Haelor just a couple of hours ago. And I knew a thing or two about her.

From what I'd seen about her on the tabloids, Instead of rushing to find her mate in her adulthood, she traveled back and forth to grand dinner parties every day, trying to get acquainted with Haelor.

In reality, Haelor never attended those boring dinners and joined the Werewolf Military Academy as an adult.Bella waited for Haelor for many years, and finally, because of the pressure from PACK, she had to recognize and accept the MATE that Luna had set up for her.

"This feels off," Quentin noted. "Lacks the genuine romance you should see in a couple that can't stop talking about how much they love each other. I don't see the love in it."

"Agreed." I nodded.

"You make a good point," Haelor added. "The way they're acting so lovey dovey with each other on stage right now feels…forced."

"Surely she didn't have to rely on the many donations her family must have made. Money does help solve everything." Bella added, a hint of mockery in her tone.

It was obvious what she was hinting at and knowing it didn't make what she was saying any less infuriating.

"Next, let's invite Ms. Thea to the stage to witness my donation, and hopefully Ms. Thea will contribute to the wolves as well. "

Haelor turned to me, a look of conviction in his eyes. "Thea. are you prepared? I'll help you ......"

"Thank you, Haelor." I put a small smile on my face.

There was a look of worry on his face. On the contrary, Quentin reacted calmly to me, looking at me with deep eyes, as if he knew I would have prepared a solution to this sudden problem.

I sent him a smile, putting on a confident look on my face.

Without another word, I got up from my seat and began making my way towards the stage. My white gown glimmered under the brightness of the light falling on it.
