As Nora came downstairs, a maid handed her a steaming cup of tea.

Nora nodded, waving the maid away.

She reached up and rubbed her temples, trying to ease the throbbing headache and dizziness. To fool Hudson yesterday, she had legitimately chugged half a bottle of hard liquor. Her brain was still paying the price.

Because she drank so much, she honestly couldn't remember most of the details.

She only remembered Hudson kissing her with brutal intensity.

She hadn't actually planned on doing anything with him—after all, she knew he supposedly couldn't perform. She only wanted to give him a little sweetness to distract him, to lower his guard. She hadn't expected it to backfire so spectacularly.
