"Shut up!" Nora snapped, her brow furrowing deeply.

She didn't even know if she was actually pregnant yet, but she absolutely refused to stand there and let Jade spit the word 'bastard' at her and Hudson's potential child.

"You want me to shut up? Fine. Tell me, when are you going to switch back with me?"

Nora stared down the twisted mask of fury and jealousy on Jade's face. She spoke slowly, emphasizing every word. "Jade, you don't get a say in this. Unless Hudson looks me in the eyes and tells me he doesn't want me anymore, I am not leaving. Until then, there is no switching back!"

Jade froze for a second before letting out a hysterical shriek. "What gives you the right to steal my place? Hudson is my husband! We have the marriage certificate!"

Nora met her gaze head-on. "You were the one who ran away from the wedding. You threw him away. Now you see he's perfectly fine and you want to waltz back in? You think tossing out a casual 'switch back' is going to fix everything? Jade, look at yourself. Do you really think you're worthy?"

"You!"

Jade's face burned a furious crimson, the veins in her eyes bulging. With a vicious swing, she raised her hand to slap Nora across the face.

Nora's pupils contracted. She tried to dodge, but she was a second too slow.

Just at that moment, a pale, slender hand clamped onto Jade's wrist like a steel vice.

Olive had seemingly appeared out of nowhere to stand by Nora's side. Dressed in a tight black T-shirt and combat pants, her hair tied in twin tails, she looked like a high schooler.

But the crushing grip she had on Jade's wrist proved otherwise.

Jade's face instantly went purple. She opened her mouth to scream, but before she could utter a sound, Olive released her wrist and delivered a blistering backhand across her cheek.

*Smack!*

The sharp, explosive crack echoed down the hallway.

The force of the blow sent Jade stumbling sideways. Half of her face instantly swelled, and a trickle of blood leaked from the corner of her mouth.
