Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 59

Nora unlocked her phone, pulled up a specific contact, and shoved the screen in Leo's face. "If you don't sit down and cooperate with the producer right now, I'm hitting dial..."

"You think I give a damn who you call? What, you gonna call the cops on me?" Leo laughed bitterly, his eyes icing over as he glared at her. "I'll have you fired and thrown out on the street before the day is over!"

Seeing the situation implode, the producer and his assistant exchanged horrified looks.

Great.

Now the poor manager girl was about to get fired.

"Take a closer look," Nora said smoothly, waving the screen lazily in front of him.

Leo shot it a dismissive glance. A split second later, his pupils constricted violently. "How... how the hell do you have that number?"

Nora didn't answer. She just raised a brow. "Take a guess."

"..."

Guess my ass!

Leo swallowed hard, staring at the digits he had memorized through sheer terror. He looked like he'd just swallowed a live fly.

His eldest brother, Gavin, was an active-duty major. All of his personal information was heavily encrypted, and his private number was never given out to anyone.

There was only one possible reason an outsider would have that number...

Nora had been incredibly nervous, unsure if the trump card Hudson had given her would actually work.

But looking at Leo, who currently resembled a man who had just been struck by lightning, she knew she'd hit the jackpot.

Leo stared at her for several agonizing seconds, his face cycling through a dozen different shades of panic. Finally, he hissed through his teeth, "Fine! You win!"

He wrenched his gaze away, sucked in a deep breath, and turned back to the producer. His tone was still atrocious, but he was finally willing to play ball. "Give me the damn packet."

The producer blanked for a second before scrambling to hand the documents over.

Leo snatched them up, skimming through the pages at record speed. He asked a few questions along the way, and though he sounded thoroughly miserable, he stopped throwing out impossible roadblocks.

Relief washed over the producer. Striking while the iron was hot, he hammered out every single detail for the first episode's recording.

In less than twenty minutes, a roadblock that had stalled the entire production for half a month was completely resolved.

As Nora walked the crew out, the producer grabbed her hand, practically weeping with gratitude. "Miss Reed, thank you so much! If you hadn't stepped in, I have no idea how this would have ended. You are an absolute lifesaver!"

Nora smiled politely. "You're too kind. It's just my job."

The producer thanked her again profusely before scurrying off with his assistant.

Nora turned around and walked back into the practice room. Leo was still parked on the sofa, hugging his guitar, not playing a single note.
