Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 684

Hudson stayed silent. It was his first time hearing about the grudges between Felix Vaughn and Henry Fairchild from his mentor.

Since it was the older generation's drama, it wasn't his place to judge.

Nora, however, frowned slightly. It was a pity that a brilliant woman like Felix had ruined her potentially magnificent life over love.

But it was her choice; outsiders had no right to comment, only to sigh in regret.

As the three of them were lost in their thoughts, Hudson's phone vibrated again.

Douglas instinctively glanced at it. Seeing the name "Finnian Fairchild," his already gloomy expression darkened further.

He grabbed the phone, hung up the call, and tossed it back onto the coffee table.

Hudson raised an eyebrow, looking helpless. "Professor, what are you doing?"

"The father is a gold digger, and the son is no good either. Stay away from him."

Hudson was left speechless.

He looked at his discarded phone, then at Douglas's displeased face, and stayed silent. He decided not to push the old man's buttons.

After all, he still needed his mentor to work himself to the bone for the next few days.

Seeing that Hudson obediently left the phone alone, Douglas's expression softened. "Alright, I'm done eating. Take me to see your latest test data."

Hudson stood up. "Let's go. I'll show you around."

...

After they left, Nora quickly packed up the food containers.

Olive O'Neil was already waiting by the door. Seeing Nora come out, she eagerly approached with a grin. "Madam, where to next?"

"Back to Cloudwater Estate first."

"You got it!"

Olive was itching to leave. Though the research facility was grand, it was so quiet she barely dared to speak out loud. It drove her crazy.

Hearing they were heading back, she instantly perked up. Stepping on the gas, she smoothly drove the car out of the compound.

As soon as they merged onto the main road, Nora's phone buzzed.

It was a text from Hudson.

[Honey, have Olive and Archer pack everything when you get home. We're flying to The Bahamas tonight.]

Nora froze for a second, then couldn't help but smile.

This man... he couldn't wait even a single day.

He had just said they would go out and play tomorrow, but now he couldn't even wait for tonight.

She happily texted back "Okay" and slipped the phone into her pocket. Turning to the front seat, she said, "Olive, we're heading out tonight."

Olive, steering with one hand, immediately lit up. "Heading out? Where?"

The living room fell silent.

Jude's gaze wandered casually until it suddenly locked onto the staircase landing. He froze as if struck by lightning.

"What is it?" Finnian noticed his reaction and followed his gaze.

Hanging on the wall was a beautifully framed portrait.

It depicted a little girl, around seven or eight years old, sitting sideways by a window. She wore a soft smile, and on her left cheek was a faint dimple...

Finnian's breath hitched.

He practically shot up from the sofa and rushed toward the painting, his heart pounding like a drum against his ribs.

With trembling hands, he pulled out his phone and opened the sketch the artist had drawn.

He held the phone next to the canvas, as if bridging a gap of over a decade.

The eyes, the facial contours...

Even that subtle left-cheek dimple—it was completely identical!

"It's her..."

Finnian's voice was so hoarse it was barely a whisper. "It's Evie..."

This was his sister, Evangeline!
