Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 834

Henry rubbed his hands together, eager to strike while the iron was hot. "There's one more thing..."

Hudson tilted his head, waiting.

"Once the Vanguard TBM tech is fully developed, the patents and copyrights will all fall under the Lancaster Group, correct?" Henry kept his tone deliberately casual. "You see, the Fairchild family is also pushing hard into chip development right now. If we could get the licensing for the core TBM technology, it would be a massive upgrade for our entire ecosystem. Since we're all family here, how about a little discount on the licensing fee?"

He paused, holding up a single finger. "A ninety percent discount. How does that sound?"

Ninety percent.

Hudson let out a dark, internal laugh. It was borderline extortion masquerading as a family favor.

"Fine."

The greedy grin on Henry's face practically split his cheeks. Suppressing the overwhelming surge of ecstasy bubbling in his chest, he picked up his teacup, took a huge gulp, and immediately pushed for more. "Oh, and I heard the Lancaster Group just secured a massive order from Westland for the Marlmont Gold Mine project?"

Hudson gave a slow nod.

Henry set the teacup down, leaning in closer, his tone dripping with fake intimacy. "In that case, do you think the Fairchild family could get a piece of the Westland market? Nothing crazy—thirty percent of the market share will do. We can handle the distribution channels in the eastern sector. We also have some political connections with the Westland government that we could leverage for you."

Hudson's fingers tapped a slow, rhythmic beat against his knee.

This time, Henry didn't get his immediate agreement.

He waited a few agonizing seconds. When Hudson remained silent, Henry let out a hearty chuckle, standing up and smoothing his tailored jacket. "No worries, take your time to think it over. There's no rush. I just wanted to put the idea on your radar. We can iron out the details later, whenever you're ready."

He offered Nora a sickeningly sweet smile. "Evangeline, I'll head out now. Come back to the manor for dinner sometime soon."

Nora forced a stiff, polite smile in response.

The moment Henry disappeared through the doors, Nora exhaled a long, heavy breath and turned sharply to Hudson. "It seems you underestimated his greed. Half the gold mine wasn't enough—now he wants your tech licenses and a third of the Westland market..."
