Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 91

Nora Reed looked down at her, her brows slightly furrowed.

"Where did you come from?"

The girl sobbed, her voice broken. "The basement... They locked me in the basement, trying to force me to sleep with them. When I refused, they beat me..."

She rolled up her sleeves, revealing shocking bruises on her arms.

"Look, they did this to me. If they catch me, they'll kill me..."

Nora's gaze lingered on the bruises for a second, then swept over a shallow bloody scratch on the girl's face.

"If you escaped, why didn't you run outside? Why did you run up to the VIP suite on the top floor?"

A flicker of something strange flashed through the girl's eyes, quickly masked by tears.

"There are guards at the door... I couldn't get out."

Her voice trembled with a cry. "I don't even know how I ended up here. I was so scared. I just wanted to find a place to hide..."

Nora said nothing, just watching her.

Under Nora's gaze, the girl grew uncomfortable and began to cry even more pitifully.

"Please, save me. I'll never forget your kindness for the rest of my life..."

She tried to drop to the floor in gratitude.

Nora reached out to stop her. "Stand up first."

"I won't get up unless you promise to help me."

Just then, footsteps echoed from the hallway.

They were getting closer.

The girl's body instantly tensed. She stumbled behind the sofa, giving Nora a desperate 'shush' gesture, pressing a finger to her lips, her eyes filled with pleading.

At that moment, the door to the suite swung open.

Arthur walked in holding a charger. "Ma'am, here's the charger."

"Thank you."

Arthur's gaze swept around the room, pausing for a fraction of a second on a crumpled rug before discreetly looking away.

"Ma'am, Mr. Lancaster should be wrapping up soon. Shall I wait by the door?"

"Sure."
