**Chapter 318: Mrs. Eaton, Goodbye**
Luis was returning to the pack house?
Ruth felt a rush of emotions—surprise and a flicker of joy intertwined within her.
Ever since Luis had embraced his wolf spirit, he had distanced himself from the pack house, opting instead for the solitude of his many homes scattered across the land.
Even when she had managed to coax him back for a family dinner, he would slip away as soon as the last bite was swallowed, leaving her with a sense of emptiness.
Alina, ever perceptive, noticed a shift in the atmosphere.
“If Mr. Eaton is coming back, then why are all these women’s clothes here?” she inquired, her brow furrowing in confusion.
The servant, visibly shaken, stammered, “They are for Ms. Wiley.”
As those words hung in the air, a wave of realization crashed over Ruth.
Bang!
In a moment of uncontrollable rage, Ruth leapt to her feet and hurled her steaming teacup at the servant’s head.
The porcelain shattered upon impact, and the servant cried out in agony, her forehead swelling and blood oozing forth, yet she remained frozen in place, pleading, “Mrs. Eaton, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry—”
“You pitiful creature!”
Ruth’s eyes turned as frigid as the depths of winter, her voice dripping with venom. “Get rid of all these clothes!”
“I dare you to throw them away,” she added, her tone laced with a challenge.
A commanding voice sliced through the tension in the room, resonating with the authority only a pureblood Alpha could wield.
Luis strode in, accompanied by Deanna, each step deliberate and heavy with implications.
“Luis, h-how could you—”
Ruth’s words faltered, her shock rendering her speechless.
Deanna had wrapped her arm around Luis possessively, her body nearly melding into his. Yet, in her eyes, a flicker of cold disdain shimmered, barely concealed beneath a veneer of sweetness.
Watching Ruth’s turmoil unfold, Deanna’s lips curled into a slow, calculated smile, as if she relished the chaos.
Luis lowered his gaze, his dark eyes scrutinizing Deanna’s every movement before he pulled her closer, his arm encircling her waist in a possessive embrace.
“Deanna is carrying my child. Next month, we will hold the ceremony,” he declared, the words reverberating in the air like a thunderclap.
“I knew Mrs. Eaton despised Deanna, so I took it upon myself to capture Deanna’s mother and friend to prevent her from speaking about you at the press conference. Mrs. Eaton was completely unaware.”
“Is that so?”
Luis’s voice was as cold as ice, and Alina trembled, her legs buckling beneath her as she knelt and bowed repeatedly.
“Yes, it was all my doing. Please forgive me. Don’t punish Mrs. Eaton.”
Luis chuckled softly, but there was no warmth in it—only the chill of impending doom. “Since you admit your guilt, we shall adhere to the laws of the Mooncrown Pack.”
His smile was a mask for the merciless fate that awaited her, and Alina’s face paled, the color draining away as fear gripped her heart.
“Mrs. Eaton, goodbye,” she whispered, her voice trembling.
With a swift motion, she closed her eyes, biting down on her lip hard enough to draw blood before she launched herself toward the marble pillar.
Bang!
In an instant, the sound of her head colliding with the unforgiving stone echoed through the room, and she crumpled to the floor, unconscious.
Crimson blood blossomed against the pristine marble, a stark reminder of the chaos that had unfolded, staining the scene with the price of betrayal…
